SOLID WOOD FURNITURE IS THE BEST INVESTMENT
Being a single mom and going through school and working, has not been an easy task. When I told friends that I was returning to school they were thinking I was out of my mind, even though they tried to be supportive. In any case, it has been a challenging yet wonderful experience, and I feel that I am being a good role model to my two kids. Showing them that it is never too late to make something of yourself, is an important lesson in life.
Anyway, when we first moved into our two bedroom apartment we were all sleeping on air mattresses and I don't think that the kids took it too hard, but I felt really badly that I couldn't afford to get them bedroom furniture right away. I window shopped for a while and because they are still young decided that when I bought them bedroom furniture it was going to have to last a while, so I decided that it would have to be solid wood furniture. After all, this is the stuff that lasts a lifetime, so that is what I would need. I scrimped and saved and eventually had enough to buy the twin mattresses that they needed, but I decided to buy them platform beds so I didn't need the box springs. Then this was the only furniture in their rooms, but I still was sleeping on an air mattress and that was getting a little old, I must say. I continued shopping around and found a great clearance sale on dressers. I picked them each up a dresser for their room. Because they were clearance, I couldn't get them to match, but was able to find two that were similar, and I was happy with the way they looked in their rooms.
My parents helped me out and repainted their room walls blue which was wonderful, because honestly I am not one of those home improvement types, and they surprised me by bringing me a bed. Sure it was just the one that they had in their guest room, but still finally a bed.
Things have gotten better since this point, and although we live on a tight budget we have been able to save a little money and will even be able to take a vacation this summer, which is something that we haven't been able to do for many years. One year of school left, and I am looking forward to getting my degree and start living a little more. It has been a hard road, but the payoff will be big!

Summertime Shape-up
The summertime for a student should be a time for relaxation and recharging of the batteries. Even if you are taking classes, which many choose to do, you should still make your most important venture to be getting yourself rested and relaxed enough that you will be able to handle the next year of your college education. This could mean just doing some fun work on the side to gain experience in your major or it could mean taking up some new and fun hobby outdoors.
For others recharging means just trying to get themselves in to shape and from experience I know that when coming to college it can be very difficult to manage your own state of health while balancing everything else in the life of a college student. In an environment where you are being asked to work more than you have in your entire life, bad habits form easily and magnify very quickly. You have almost no time to deal with these sorts of problems either unless you are someone who is extremely motivated. This is what makes the summertime perfect because most people who are here to pressure you away from working on yourself are no longer an influence and you can make the changes you need. IF you are like me and gained the dreaded freshman fifteen then you might start by getting your weight and eating habits under control a little bit. I started with biking everyday and some Lida. Lida is this really great dietary supplement that I actually got in the form of Lýda tea. It helped me to burn off my fat a little bit quicker until I could begin training myself to stay fit and healthy throughout the rest of the school year. After another year of school I am still biking everywhere I go and I still hit the gym at least once a week. All the while my dietary habits still follow those that I began last summer when I really did need them. Take my little hint here and get started now even if you are a freshmen or a senior just get yourself in a healthier state of being. You will thank me later.
