A PSYCHIC SAVED MY LIFE
I really have always believed in psychic abilities to a certain extent, however it has never been something that I have explored very deeply. On occasion I would visit a psychic just to see what they had to say and what insight they could give me into what was coming my way. I was looking forward to my future on the day I went to see a psychic. When I arrived with a friend of mine I was really positive and upbeat as I always was when I went, because it always seemed to make me feel a little better to have some idea of what the future may hold for me. As I went in, I don't know if it was psychic or not, but I began to feel a little queasy and knew that something wasn't right. As my psychic reading began I just felt really off, and I knew something wasn't right
Immediately the psychic told me that I needed to have my health checked out, I really hadn't had any health issues to date and so I wasn't that wrapped in what she was saying. She told me that I needed to make an appointment with my doctor asap and get checked out, preferably my my ob/gyn that there was something wrong. Well, when I left I was a little scared and I waited to tell my friend about it until we got out to the car. After all, I didn't want to scare off the woman who was there for a free psychic reading. When I told her, she couldn't believe what the psychic told me, but she said that every reading she had with this woman her information was right on the money, so I had better get checked out, as there must really be something wrong.
Sure enough, I went to my ob/gyn and they found that I had an ectopic pregnancy and that could be life threatening if not taken care of. I really felt fine with the exception of that time when I was at the psychic, and probably never would have realized that I had a problem if not for this psychic. She really did save my life!

Being Away from school
When I am at home I am the oldest child. I usually look after my younger siblings (ages 18, 12 and 10) and tend to worry, even when I don't have to. I think that is just part of being the oldest child. When I was at home before I left for college though I think I took a lot of stuff for granted.
When I needed someone to talk to that really knew me, I had three people (and my dad) to turn to. I could say anything I wanted without someone judging me or having to worry about what they would think. Even after we would fight or disagree, five minutes later we were over it and it was all forgotten.
And I always come home for holidays and I get to do stuff like carve pumpkins and decorate this Christmas tree, but at times I miss things that I never knew that I would. I miss looking for Halloween costumes with my younger siblings and playing tricks on my dad. My sister called to tell me about her barbie costume because i missed it this year and it was so sad to me. And I always get to do the Easter egg hunt, but I'm not always there to paint the eggs with everyone because our schedules are always so busy and I only get the weekend off so I don't get home until Friday night before. And my brother will talk about his basketball games and baseball games and my sister has gymnastics meets. I remember being home and dreading having to wake up early and drop them off or to watch their practices with my dad or go when he went to the other ones event. But now that I am gone I actually miss those things (I know weird right).
I remember when I was little my dad would tell us how lucky we are to have each other and we always played and hung out and fought, but I don't think we really realized how right he was. Obviously I see them all summer and we email and talk on the phone and I come home for breaks and it's like I never left (and now my other sister is in college too) but it still isn't always the same and I really do realize now how lucky I am. I see how close my dad is with his brothers and I can't wait to be older and have that relationship with my siblings too.

Fashion: Trying New Things
There are a lot of fashion and clothing lines out now that have been out for awhile but are starting to get more and more recognition. I had heard of lines like Baby Phat but had never really looked into them or bought any of their clothing items or accessories. But I was online one day and I saw a link for the shopping website for Baby Phat and I decided to check it out. They have a lot of cute stuff that I probably wouldn't have even known about if it hadn't been for that ad.
I have to say that even though I try not to be, I am kind of plain when it comes to clothes. I wear jeans a lot and I wear a lot of black. Not like weird black, but more like classy cute tops from Express or Limited. I also wear a lot of polos. People would probably say I'm more preppy or have a classic vibe. So when I see stores like Baby Phat with more of an out there reputation I tend to stay away and not even give them a chance. There are a lot of color varieties and patterns and I usually stray away from that so when I had heard about those types of stores I don't really even give them a second thought. But when I went on to their website I found a lot of things that I liked that I wouldn't have thought of before.
They also have a lot of cute bags and accessories. Since I wear a lot of black or neutral color clothes, I tend to buy bags (even though I have a lot of black ones) that pop like I have a few clutches in different colors like a snake skin pink one that I wear with black outfits and get so many compliments on. Or earrings and necklaces that stand out in metallic or patterned.
But I think from now on I am going to give stores that I normally wouldn't a chance before just shutting them out because I don't think that they are my style. Because I ended up finding a bunch of things that I liked from that website and I normally wouldn't have gone there. I guess it is good to try new things!

RARE GOLD COINS WORTH A MINT
Everyone is tightening their belts now, and I too have found a real need to not only pick up items cheaply, but also to start selling online to supplement my income. One great way that I have found to accomplish both these things at once is to go to yard sales and consignment shops. They both offer some great deals, depending on the seller. It is quite an adventure, as you never really know what you will find, or how much it will be worth on the internet. The one thing that I think is a lot of fun is to put stuff on Ebay for a penny and see how much people will pay for it. For instance, a few weeks ago, when the weather was still good, I went to a few different yard sales and picked up some rare gold coins. Now, I am not a person who is into coin collecting, so I really didn't know how much if anything these things were worth, and I guess that the woman who was selling them was also clueless, because between the two of us we thought that a reasonable asking price was a dollar a coin. I decided to put the lot up on Ebay and I put them in their vintage antique collectible category and put them up for a penny. The fun thing about doing this is some things actually sell for a penny and somethings sell for a lot of money, so you just can't tell how much stuff is going to sell for which makes it very exciting. Anyway, I bought the lot of rare coins for $5 and so I figured I really didn't have much to lose. Well, to my amazement I sold the lot of coins for $150.00. It was a great surprise, to get that much for something I paid only $5 for. Don't get me wrong, I do lose money on items also. Doing it this way can be risky, but sooooo much fun, that I just can't resist it.
Anyway, if you know a little something about anything, then you can figure out the value and try and sell it on Ebay. Being an Ebay seller can be a lot of work, but it is also a lot of fun.

Gifts for boyfriends
I love when magazines put in articles close to the holidays with gifts for him and gifts for her ideas. Although I always know what to get my girl friends and usually my family, buying gifts for guys has always been a problem for women (especially me because I over think everything). My friends and I were just talking about what we were going to get our boyfriends for Christmas. We seriously couldn't think of any good ideas really collectively, which is pathetic. I have been with my boyfriend for about 2 years, so it is safe to say that I know him pretty well. So it upsets me a lot that I can't figure out what to get him for his birthday or Christmas. He's really into sports (like most guys I would assume) so I looked into sports tickets, which Ideally would be a good idea, however we are both away at school so I couldn't find anything good for the time that we are home from break together. Last year I got him DVD's and tickets to go see second city, which was actually really fun, but I really never know what to get him for sure and it stresses me out so much because I really want it to be something good.
Sometimes I wish I was a guy, because I feel like girls are much easier to buy gifts for than boys are. Maybe just because I am a girl so I don't really know the other perspective and I'm sure guys sit around thinking that they wish they had a girl's point of view when shopping, but I still think that it is easier to find a gift for a girl. When I go shopping for my girlfriends for their birthdays I can never decide what to get because I have so many ideas and options that I have to narrow it down. I just don't understand why it's so hard to find a gift for a boy. We know what they like so we should be able to figure out what to get them as a gift but still it seems so hard.
Thankfully though they have that article in a magazine every year about gifts for him and what to get him for Christmas so as soon as it comes out I will be the first one buying it.

Jared Lansky
When I was online the other day I was browsing blogs and came across one by Jared Lansky. It was actually something that really caught my eye for some reason so I clicked in it just to see what it was all about. To be honest, I had no idea who Jared Lansky was, but his blogs are all about internet and online businesses and succeeding in the business area, so I kept reading to learn more.
One of the blogs was called 6 tips from Jared Lansky, which I thought was interesting. It helped me to learn more about this person. I read his tips on how to boost your online advertising. Which actually seemed really practical and helpful. Apparently he works for a company called AdBuySell. And his blog is full of articles and tips on having a successful life (which is something I'm interested in!).
A few of the blogs (well most of them) are about online businesses and advertising and tips on how to better yours. But he also covers a huge range of topics in the business world. He writes about things like creating a successful internet marketing plan, advertising factors that can affect your business, how to make money with marketing and even how to get your advertisements out there for more people to see.
At first this kind of seemed like all of those self help, start business kinds of books that people buy or see on a talk show and then they turn out to be a waste of money or a scam. But after reading into it, I realized he isn't asking for money, just sharing his knowledge (obviously a lot of it) on the subjects of business and internet marketing and advertising. So while you might not agree or use all or any of his tips, it really is worth your while if you are in this particular field (or even if you aren't and are looking to expand whatever business you are in) because the advice is free (which is hard to come by these days) and helpful and honest. It is nice to have someone that has already gone through the marketing and advertising successfully (or maybe not so successfully a few times) to learn lessons from. This was you can use their good ideas (and even their mistakes) to learn from and build upon in your own life.

eco friendly blog
An eco-friendly blog like mind-body-planet is a great way to get started if you are looking into making your life ‘greener'. This blog tells about people's accounts of living healthier and more eco-friendly. From buying organic to getting into better shape with yoga, you can learn different new and exciting ways to transform your own life. Blogs are such a great way to feel out new things and see how they are without actually doing them yourself yet. By reading someone's personal account, you can see how they, for example, started buying more organic food and replacing their junk food one item at a time. This way, you can get ideas as to how you want to start.
Blogs don't only help you transform your life health wise, they can also help you to find a hobby. By reading what other people enjoy doing for fun, you can feel around for activities that you may like. On an online gambling blog, people write about their experiences, as well as tips for new players. If gambling or card playing is something that you are thinking about getting into, you can read about it online and learn before going out and potentially losing money!
Blogs can also teach you to how to do something. Like if you are terrible on computers or with technology overall, technologicalthoughts a technology blog can be your best friend. This blog explains several different aspects of computers like photo shopping and how to work iTunes. I know sometimes I don't feel like calling the 1-800 number on the computer box and waiting an hour to talk to a recording. And I also feel dumb sometimes going into a technology store like best buy or the apple store to ask a simple question, because usually they are so knowledgeable and some people are so condescending. The other day I went in to ask how to set up a web cam and the guy looked at me like I was 80 years old and didn't know how to work a computer. I knew kind of how to set it up, but I wanted to make sure I was doing it right before I left for school and he just was so rude about it. He talked to me like I was a 5 year old. So in that case I really wish I would have signed on my computer and looked up a website to find instructions on, because while a lot of people complain about the internet being impersonal, I think sometimes that's what you really need.

insurance blog
On the web there is an obvious shift in the areas in which people rely on their information. The long held belief that the major news sources and the newspapers in our towns are the most conclusive, is not completely true anymore. In the same light, people are shifting the ways in which they share their thoughts with people in their community. Now, any town that has a computer is part of the global community in some form or another. This globalization of the voice of eery individual has really empowered people in their right and willingness to make their voices heard. Now people don't have to get on national news to speak to the whole country. If you can write a blog then you can control politics, opinion, and people's interests. Companies create blogs as well in order to spread the word about their products through the voices of their supporters or critics. If you look at all you can easily find a blog on health, an insurance blog, and a travel industry blog all on the same search engine. These might be based on company funds or they may be based on someone's individual thoughts such as sites. All of these are three sites that are just part of the movement of opinion in this century. They're all sites that are managed and written by independent individuals that are not in anyone's pocket, they just have an honest an general interest in that which they are talking about. These people are also obviously enthusiastic enough to have gone out of their way to write at length about a topic in a way that may be less that academic. On that same note though, many of the best bloggers out there are also professionals and students who have something unique to say on a certain subject. Communications over the past decade have really been making their way from a media controlled monopoly of public opinion, to a sea of opinions that allow for certain individuals to rise to the top and make their voices heard within the global community.

technology blog
I am one of those people whose mind just runs all the time. It is a very creative mind, however sometimes it runs me ragged from one thought to the next. Some things are difficult for me to choose because I can see the benefits of all the options and I can't decide really which one is right for me. For instance, I love kids and want to teach, but I also love to write and have considered writing a book. I tend to be very comical and sarcastic and tend to make people laugh so sometimes I think that maybe stand up comedy would be the way to go. Sometimes with a mind that is constantly creating ideas it is a burden to sift through them all and come up with just one good solid idea.
Sometimes I get online and for instance, today I got online to go to my favorite online gambling blog at www.gamblingthoughts.com and after reading it I find myself thinking about getting a new camera for my upcoming trip to Vegas and next thing you know I am on a technology blog at www.technologicalthoughts.com. So I click here and there and next thing I know I am beginning to think about those eco friendly lightbulbs that I ordered on Ebay and I begin researching about them and how much power I can save and then I am at www.mind-body-planet.com a very informative eco-friendly blog, but still I wonder how I switch so quickly from one thought to the next.
It is hard for me to stay on track sometimes and these symptoms only get worse when I am distracted about something like school work, or worried about something like money, and if I am tired I have a really hard time just making heads or tails out of anything at all. I have yet to determine whether the constant flip flopping of my mind is the sign of great mind or a sign of early onset Alzheimer's. In any case, this is the mind that I have been given, and for right now it is the way it is, but I will be working over the next few months on getting my mind focused, even if I have to take something from the health food store to get the job done.

party supplies
I remember when I was little and we would have birthday parties my dad would always take us to the store to get party supplies. When you're little, having the best birthday party is such a big deal to you and all of your friends. We used to try to outdo each other and compete to have the best party. I remember one year we had a pony come to our house and do rides. Another year we had a luau party and swam in our pool. For the luau party we went all out (like seriously all out!) We had lei's and coconut drinks and grass skirts and flowers in our hair and we cooked out in the back yard and had pineapples it was so fun and I think I was only like 8 years old. The big thing in middle school was roller skating parties for your birthday. We would all get glow sticks or glow necklaces for party favors, but at a lot of the skating parties we would get our party favors before the party started because there was a lights out skate for like ten minutes and we would all put on our glow necklaces (we thought we were so cool).
But now that we're older it's funny because we do the same things (well maybe not roller skating), but we try to have themed parties like when we were younger. We had a black and white themed party the summer going into my freshman year of college which was super fun and a really good time to say goodbye to everyone before we left for college. We've also had Hawaiian parties (similar to our luau party when we were younger) except with alcohol. I think themed parties are a way for everyone to just let loose and have a good time. Having a theme or dressing up as a part or to fulfill a theme takes you out of your comfort zone and you enjoy the party a lot more I think. We're trying to plan a themed party for the end of the summer and so far we haven't come up with a good theme. We might end of re doing the black and white because that was a hit or maybe cubs vs. white sox fan (but almost everyone is a sox fan). As long as it has a theme though I'm sure it will be a blast!

chocolate
So I recently went to our local health food store in hopes to start eating a little better. I already eat pretty healthy, but like any other college student I fall for the late night snacking and eating out with friends. At school there aren't very many healthy stores. Sure the local Wal-Mart where almost everyone shops has a fruit and vegetable aisle, but there aren't really any stores that are completely dedicated to health. So before I go back to school for the fall or when I am home for breaks, I go to the local health food store and stock up on stuff to bring back. I always find so many good healthy snacks like trail mix and popcorn. I love all the snacks and even the weird dips and organic chips that they sell. My favorite thing about the store though is their gigantic chocolate aisle. They have a really long and really wide (I'm pretty sure that it is the biggest aisle in the store) aisle that is just full of chocolate things. So buying a ton of chocolate snacks from a health food store, like chocolate covered pretzels and trail mix with chocolate chips mixed in makes me feel like it is healthy too. They have the best chocolate chip granola bars, which even though I'm sure are no better than the granola bars you get at the regular grocery store, but I have convinced myself that because they are from the health food store that they are really good for me.
So now that I am getting ready to leave for school, I am making a list of all the things I want to bring with. Of course I'm going to bring my favorite pizza bagels that have organic sauce and goat cheese and oregano that takes only like 3 minutes to make (perfect dinner for a college student or someone like me that can't cook at all) and the dried fruit bars that are easy to pack in my bag and eat in class without getting caught, but I am also definitely going to stock up on chocolate covered pretzels (a great late night library snack) and chocolate drizzled peanut butter clusters, my second favorite. Because in my mind even though I'm sure this stuff will be the death of me one day, it is from the health food store therefore it must be good for me. Ha.

emerald
It can be so difficult to find something special for my grandmother. Her birthday is coming up and her birthstone is smaragd that is the German word for emerald. She absolutely loves jewelry and so I know that she would like to have a ring, maybe something done with emeralds and lots of diamonds. I found a perfect ring and called my grandfather on the sly to ask her ring size. He said, honey, grandma can't wear rings anymore because of her arthritis in her fingers. He said that she can barely wear her wedding set and that she never wears any rings anymore, because her finger is so much smaller than her knuckles. Well, needless to say I was very disappointed, but I was glad to find out this information before I got her something that she wasn't going to be able to wear. So back to the drawing board I went and I looked at a beautiful necklace, however, it was way out of my price range and I thought, better luck next time. So I finally decided that maybe I should just steer away from jewelry and move on to something else. I looked and looked at massager's and movies and any other gifty idea I could come up with, and all I kept thinking was I wanted this to be a special gift since it is going to be her 60th and I really want to acknowledge it with a great gift.
Finally, I went online and typed in emerald and diamond jewelry and I found this incredible site that offered some great deals and I found a beautiful emerald and diamond tennis bracelet. The thing was beautiful, so of course I ordered it. I was a little afraid that it would be smaller than it looked online, but when it came, to my surprise it was bigger than I thought and it was beautiful. I even took it to a jeweler for an appraisal and found out that it was actually worth 3x what I paid for it. I am so excited, I can't wait to give it to her.

disaster restoration
I find it so sad when I hear the stories and see the pictures of the after effects from natural disasters that have taken place all over the world. I just think that it must be totally devastating to have a natural disaster come through and tear up the area of the world that you call home. For the most part these events take place with little or no warning at all, which perhaps is the most devastating part of it all. Let's face it, you can't just lift your house out of the way and quick move it someplace else, it is just a sitting target, and for most people this holds all that they own and all the equity that they have in the world. I think that the governments of all the countries should have a plan for disaster restoration in place, so that an area ravaged by tragedy can receive immediate relief. There definitely need to be funds set aside for these emergency events, much in the same way a family needs to have emergency plans in place, and monies set aside just in case.
It seems that the occurrence of these events is becoming more and more frequent, and it is leaving a lot of people in a hopeless situation. I just really can't imagine watching all that devastation taking place and not being able to do anything but watch it destroy your world. Then to make the whole experience even more frightening is the idea that after all that devastation you will be left alone and without help or hope. One would think that someone would care enough to help, but no one does. The government sends some initial aid to the area, and then forgets all about the fact that you have been left homeless and penniless and even worse yet hopeless. Those few who want to help, have so little in the way of resources that it will take about a decade or more to get all the residents of the ravaged area into some sort of decent living situation again.
I guess it truly amazes me that countries who spend so much time worrying about everyone else in the world, and spending so much money to protect them, think so little of their own citizens. In this country we really need to look at that. Who pays the government in tax dollars, the Iraqi's or the residents in Louisiana? So who should we help first? Is this really a question that we need to ask?

basement windows
A friend of mine recently had her house destroyed by the people who were renting it. When she got them in, they seemed like the perfect tenants. They had a family and were nice and clean cut and paid their rent on time every month. The house was in good condition and my friend stopped worrying about the house and occasionally drove by the house to take a look and all seemed well. Then all of a sudden she started getting the rent checks late and then not at all. When she would drive by the house things were looking a mess, unsightly with garbage in the yard and she could not even believe these were the same people that she had originally rented to. Well, she had to go through eviction proceedings and through this and talking to a few of the neighbors apparently the husband had a drug addiction problem. She finally got them evicted and when they moved out the house was trashed. This man had gone on a rage and trashed the house. He took what looked like a sledge hammer to the windows even the basement windows and the doors. When this psycho got done with the place, it looked like swiss cheese. What was such a cute little house, is now quite frankly an eye sore.
Well, thank goodness for insurance. She was fully covered for the whole thing. Unfortunately, now she will have to go through all the trouble of hiring someone to do the work. I know that she went to order some vinyl replacement windows for the house and the company is going to install those for her. She is now working on hiring a contractor to take care of the rest of the work and she has gotten a few estimates, but several of them are actually more than the insurance paid her for the damage. She is seriously considering selling this house after she gets it fixed because she is really afraid of having another nightmare rental. She feels like there is no way that she could have known that this man was a time bomb waiting to go off. All his reference checked out, and the truth is how could she really have known that this was going to happen. Bottom line is she couldn't have, some things are not foreseeable.

promotional products
Are your sales going down? Maybe you’re losing some customers, or rent prices/bills are going up, or perhaps you are just looking to expand your business and you want to attract more people. How should you go about initiating this very important change?
What you will need is more than a one-time promotional event. You need an ongoing sale, something that will not only make your customers feel comfortable and taken care of but also that will get the word out quickly and easily about your office. Of course, this is a bit of an investment but your profits will be realized in just a short amount of time.
Aside from offering coupons in the newspaper, a very good way of increasing business is through customer referrals. Customer referrals are so effective because the people your customers are referring most likely trust the opinion of your customers. It is even better if your customer has something that can show the results of your services. Your main issue here is figuring out how to convince your customers to refer your office. Good service obviously does work wonders but often people need incentives to really get stuff done, especially something that doesn’t necessarily directly benefit them like referrals. This is where promotional products come in.
If your company is based in the UK or even if you have a corporate headquarters there (like many larger banks and companies do), Ideas By Net is the perfect site for all of your promotional needs. Ideas by Net offers a large selection of promotional items such as the usual pens and mugs to umbrellas and bags. They offer one hour quotations as well as free virtual samples. And you’ll rest easy knowing that you have access to professional design services. The only sad thing is, Ideas By Net is only available in the UK. They do, however, have a page dedicated to referring US customers to trusted websites in the US that offer similar service. In this way, Ideas By Net really tries to appeal to the customer on a global scale.
Whatever you decide to order, make sure it simple yet large enough to put your logo on clearly. If you want to offer it as a prize for offering referrals, make sure it provides ample incentive to actually refer other customers. And while you’re at it, why don’t you find some clothing or desk supplies to distribute to the staff? If your staff members wear clothing with company insignia or use pens with the logo on it, it shows a pride in the brand that will surely mirror to the customers. And if you’re proud to flaunt your logo, your customers will be proud to flaunt it as well and soon the customer referrals will start rolling in! Good luck!

promotional items
A friend of mine and I were out to lunch and he was talking to me about a new way that he has found to get his business more exposure. He has added a line of promotional items that he feels is really doing the trick. He said that he found an excellent company online that he orders from and they do the designs and logos exactly the way he wants them. He started by ordering some pens and a representative from the company suggested some of the larger items to give as client give aways and to give to employees for good work etc. He said that doing this would get his company’s information out there and see by the public. The customer service person also advised him that this was a good way to stimulate return business and also employee moral. He told him that employee’s feel valued when they are given stuff and that it would not only help with moral but with employee retention as well.
He told me that he didn’t really believe it at first, but he couldn’t get over the way his employees and clients were reacting to the free goodies. He said that they just lit up when he gave these things away and that the employees liked the stuff so much they seemed to use these items all the time, and that was a great advertisement for him as well.
I inquired as to what type of items he was giving away, and he said the website had tons of different promotional items to choose from. These were just some of the items that he choose and felt had worked really well:
Coffee Mugs
Key Rings
Caps
Highlighter Pens
Carrier Bags
Travel Mugs
Note Pads
Sports Bottles
Umbrellas
T-Shirts
He said these items had been working so well, that he began to offer a client weekly raffle as well as offering some of these gifts to his employees and even began using the free bees for an employee of the month program and he allows the employees to vote for who the employee of the month is. He said that the whole thing has generated a new aspect for his business and everyone is into getting the free stuff. Employees each have been given their own T-Shirt with the name of his business in a design on the front and the back. He was able to lay out the design himself and is very happy with it.
I think I will give this a try, he has given me the name of the company and it is worth a shot. Whatever you can do to build your business, you should at least give a shot at.

singles
I have been researching online dating lately. With internet becoming a major form of communication these days, and typing becoming more common than actually talking to someone, I was interested to see and hear what the internet dating scene was about. Quite honestly it has become such a popular way to meet people that singles have quite a decision in front of them.
In the sites that just offer personals, there is limited interaction with the other people on the site. You must just comb through tons of ads to try and find someone who is right for you.
With true online matchmaking sites, they use tons of questions about you to help you narrow down the results about who to consider dating. Honestly, they ask you questions about all the important criteria and then enter it into a computer that tries to find the best matches available on their site for you.
The most important traits are social status, looks, height, body type, age, ethnicity, baggage, and religion. Match up on these characteristics and you will find good dates. Let’s examine each more closely:
Social status: this includes income, education, and your family background. And regarding income, most women don’t list their income. Nevertheless, this is an essentially important component of dating success.
Looks: if you’re ugly don’t expect to hook up with someone super hot looking. Of course, the photos are so bad it’s often hard to tell what people really look like until you meet them. When you meet in person, you may be horrified, or you may be pleasantly surprised.
Height: the average man is five inches taller than the average women. It is believed that most men will lie by an inch or two in this section so don’t be surprised ladies.
Body type: you’re best sticking to the same body type as you, even though the desirability of body types differ depending upon your sex. But one interesting point is that many assume that a slender body type is most desirable for women, when actually men like any body type as long as it’s not something like “a few extra pounds or “large frame.
Age: men would like to go out with women who are ten years younger, but it’s not going to happen.
Religion: women tend to be somewhat more religious than men, so if you’re a man and an atheist, you need to also match with women who profess a religion but don’t really practice it.

California flowers
My fiancée and I will be getting married on August 1st of this year, and we have finally gotten around to going to the florist to choose flowers for the wedding. I know some men don’t get this involved in wedding planning but my guy does. Not only that but he wants certain flowers for the centerpieces. Apparently the flowers that he wants are called Birds Of Paradise, the only problem is these are ,California flowers and are very difficult to find in the mid west. The florist was really very helpful and offered that she can ship them in, however, this will be quite costly. My hubby to be was thrilled and said that he will pay whatever it costs to have these on the tables at the reception.
Until I met him I never knew that there was such a flower as a Bird Of Paradise, but now that I have seen them, I understand why he likes them so much. They are pointed and face the side and kind of resemble a bird. They are very uniquely colored purple and orange, which honestly sounds really odd, but they really are very beautiful and very unique looking.
So I asked him if he was sure that he wanted to pay extra to get these flowers shipped in for the wedding, and his response was that he was totally sure that this is the way he has pictured the centerpieces and this is definitely what he wants. He said everyone decorates with roses, carnations, or daffodils, but he has never been to a wedding that had Birds Of Paradise. I agreed that they were very unique and would look really great with the purple in the bridesmaid’s dresses. Then we went on to pick the bridesmaid’s bouquets and my bouquet and we picked tea roses for both, mine in a classic white, with baby’s breath for the hair, and tea roses for the girl’s bouquets in purple and pink. My fiancée helped with every decision wanting every little detail to be just perfect.
I absolutely know that I am marrying the right person. He is just terrific and is very involved in every aspect of planning our special day. I know that he will be just as involved when we have children someday, and I know that we will be sharing a beautiful life together forever.

Tom Petty tickets
One day as I was walking down the street I saw a sign that said concert tickets are available at the concert studio so I ran as fast as I could to the concert studio. When I got there I saw that there were two kinds of tickets. Kenny Chesney tickets and Tom petty tickets. I love Kenny Chesney. I have always loved country music and so has my family. When I got home with the tickets my roommate was sleeping on the sofa with a beer in his hand so I just took the beer from his hands and threw it in the trash. In about a month I thought I will get to go see Kenny Chesney perform. A week later I had just gotten home from grocery shopping and my roommate began questioning me about the ticket I had on the table. I told him about the tickets available at the concert studio and he immediately took off running out the door. About a few hours later my roommate came running in with two tickets. Why do you have two tickets I asked? Because I threw yours in the trash he replied with an evil look on his face. Why would you do that I asked. Because Kenny Chesney stinks he answered back so I decided to get us some Tom Petty tickets instead. Well at least tell me when the concert is. Its tonight he told me. Let’s go then! I yelled. Once we got to the concert me and my roommate separated. We never really hung out much but I just sat and had a drink while he got a date and took her home. That’s what he always did. I just thought about how I could use a date when two guys behind me began to fight and were kicked out of the concert. I left about twenty minutes later and headed home. When I got there my roommate was no where to be found so I called his cell phone but he didn’t answer. At first I thought this was a joke so I sat down and watched the news. All of the sudden on the news they started talking about a taxi crash and how a guy and a girl were hurt and I knew right then and there that my roommate was the guy so I called the news station and asked if the name of the guy was Timmy Cash and when they said yes I was crushed. So I have decided I am NEVER going to another concert again!

Games
Now that school is over and I am home with my parents, I have nothing to do. To pass the time I have been playing lots of internet games. I have been surprised to find how many internet games are out there. I have also be surprised to find how much diversity in the crowd of online gamers there actually is. Now that I think about it I am not so surprised since I am not the kind of person I would think of when thinking about internet gamers either. I think everyone has that kind of stereotype, but I really think that at one point it may have been valid. Now with the ever increasing influence of the internet and computer technology with peoples homes, it accounts for the extreme diversity of the types of people I have met playing online games. The other day for example I was playing online dominoes through one of the big online search engines with a stay at home mother who was just playing to pass time between lunch and when he kids come home from school. Another day last week I was playing against an older woman in Wyoming who had nothing to do since her husband was out ranching and she had finished all of her errands. I have met people who are playing while they are supposed to be working, and kids who should have been writing book reports. Every one of us was united by the fact that we all had this forum that could link us all around the world and keep us entertained for as long as we needed. It has just been a really great lesson for me in diversity. Only two weeks in to the summer and already I think I must have met people from twenty different countries, some of which did not speak english, and people from ten or fifteen states. I just never though that I would be learning something like this from playing internet games, but I guess that is the thing about good lessons, you never know where they are going to come from and when they are going to really appear to you.

Talent Auditions
So I have this...friend. His name is...Matt. Matt, ummm, he's not very bright. And ahh, well, he just got himself fired. Well now, it wasn't really his fault, I mean, in all reality it was her fault. I mean, everything would have been fine if she hadn't come into mi...his life and put these ridiculous notions into his head. I mean really? Did she really have to make him think that he had the remotest possibility of getting even one of the many acting jobs she told him about? But that's how it all went down. She strolled into the large, yellowed, flaking paint covered, fired brick three story building that served pretty well as the quasi district headquarters of the Juke Box Inc. multi blockal corporation. It started when he was young. Really really young. When he was two, his mother dolled him all up in a cute little toddler sailor suit-you know, the ones that are all baby blue and white? She took him downtown and set him on a little table and so began his baby modeling career-and ended it. But then, when he was thirteen he got his second chance. His mother, again, dressed him up in some scary eighty's style fluorescent pink and green wind suits (that was all the rage back then) and took him back to the same agency and got him in to some auditions for teens. He thought that was all over now, though. He figured it was a product of his youth, his innocence, his boyishly good looks. But when She sauntered up those faux leopard skin carpeted creaky stairs and into m....his office she told him about some acting auditions taking place near by. Nothing big, but just big enough to rekindle those long lost dreams of stardom and fame. And so I went with her, all the way downtown to the large windowed thirty story building that he'd visited some fifteen years before, and psyched himself up for his three movie auditions. When that was over, he drove himself on down to the agency headquarters for his modeling auditions. And that's when I remembered I had a meeting with my boss. Safe to say I was cleaning out my desk in the morning.

Flowers
Having flowers delivered to your workplace is a great way to get people to take notice of you. I have had friends who actually send flowers to themselves at work, just to have people fawn over them when they read the card. Some have used the old secret admirer trick and some have actually made up a guys name to send them. I think this is a bit corny, and I never realized that people would go this far to get people to pay attention to them. I personally think that this is going a bit too far.
I think it is a lovely gesture to send someone a beautiful flower arrangement at work or at school. I think it does get them noticed, but I prefer to think that most are sincerely from someone else and not just being sent to them by themselves. These days it is really easy to send flowers. As a matter of fact, I just this past weekend sent flowers to my mother for Mother’s Day. I had not realized that Mother’s Day was upon us, with finals etc, so I quickly hopped online and found a florist that offered same day delivery. I picked out a lovely arrangement which had lilacs in it. I have always loved the smell of lilacs and they are my mother’s favorite as well. The arrangement I chose came in a beautiful glass vase and made a lovely gift for Mother’s Day. She got them on time, and was completely thrilled when she called to thank me for them. Now she will never know that I completely spazzed and forgot all about Mother’s Day. She would never forgive me for forgetting her. When she gets together with her friends they will ask her what she got for Mother’s Day, and if she has to tell them that she didn’t get anything, she will be mortified, or so she says. I think, knowing my mother, she would probably just make up some elaborate thing that I sent her, just to make me seem like the good caring son, the whole time cursing me under her breath.
I am just glad that my quick thinking and help of the handy dandy internet saved me from the wrath of Mom, which is worse than anything I can imagine. Quick thinking and knowledge of the online flower world really saved the day.
