Detour: Guinness Stout Brownies
As I've said before, any recipe that lets me drink a beer (chambord, whiskey, kahlua, what have you) is ok in my book. Thank goodness for St. Patrick's Day. Without it, no one would have ever thought to put Guinness in a brownie and I would not have had an excuse to go to the beer store and buy some. Let's hope these are as yummy as a pint.

Rich, moist, wonderful. I actually needed a second sample to evaluate, since the first one disappeared so easily I forgot to take notes. Who know that the chocolate overtones in Guinness could blend so well with the malty overtones in chocolate? I raise my glass to the soul that first spilled their pint into the batter...
