Accessing VentureXpert Web

Thomson's, the vendor from whom Kresge licenses VentureXpert Web, is in the process of migrating VentureXpert Web to a new information platform called Thomson One. As a result, additional steps are necessary to access VentureXpert Web content:

  1. Using Internet Explorer, access VentureXpert Web from the A-Z Database list
  2. Within Thomson One, click on the "screening and analysis" link at the bottom left of the screen
  3. Click on the "private equity" expandable link at the top left of the next screen. The "search companies" link under "private equity" will bring up VentureXpert Web (although it won’t be branded as such).

Please note that VentureXpert/Thomson One only works in Internet Explorer. If you have difficulty accessing VentureExpert Web, please feel free to contact a Kresge librarian.

New IBISWorld Interface and Reports

IBISWorld

Beginning May 15, users will see additions and enhancements to IBISWorld's industry research reports.

The new interface is more user-friendly, with new analytical charts, expanded key statistics, and highlighted key take-away messages in every report. New Industry at a Glance reports provide snapshots of performance, key issues and operating strengths and weaknesses, and Industry Resource links will help researchers identify additional data sources. Additionally, a new Jargon and Glossary Section will help researchers gain familiarity with industry language.

IBISWorld is available to those affiliated with the Ross Business School and the University of Michigan, as well as Kresge library guests, via the library's A-Z Database page. A help guide is available, but please contact a librarian if you have questions about access or use of this database.
