IM Reference at the Library is Here to Stay!

For those of you who use our IM chat service on the Library's web site, you may have noticed a message this weekend in the chat box stating that "Meebo Me is being discontinued". Last week Meebo was purchased by Google for a very tidy sum. Over the weekend, Meebo announced that they would be discontinuing most of their services.

IM reference at the Kresge Library will not be going away! The Library has successfully been using the Meebo Me client and widget for the past 3 years to provided IM reference services via the web site. While we are sad to lose such and easy to use and properly priced (free) service, we will be exploring other options for providing IM reference to the Ross community.
