One of the world's most popular games, World of Warcraft, currently has over 5 million subscribers. Blizzard, the game's creator, recently stated an LGBT-friendly guild could not advertise their group because it would create harassment from other players, which would violate their sexual harassment policy.

In On-line games, the public chat channels are often filled with gay-bashing remarks. This has caused some players to come together in LGBT-friendly guilds so they can avoid these public chat channels and not have to worry about harassement.

Due to Blizzard's stance against LGBT-friendly guilds, they have been issued a Gay Rights Warning by Lambda Legal. More information can be found here.
