does it matter if you're considered an asshole?

isn't it just vanity to defend oneself when someone interprets your motivations to be less than scupulous, when in reality, nothing could be farther than the truth, and yet, your struggles to find a way to do the right thing are seen as prevarication?

is it worth the energy you know will be required to defend yourself? What are you really defending? Your pride? I don't think it's worth defending one's pride in every situation. "Pride" is nothing. It's not an ideal, it's nothing.

the thing is, i know the truth.
it bothers me to be misunderstood
