Pumas Return to Museum
The pumas have returned to their perches in front of the Ruthven Museum of Natural History. The new pumas are cast in bronze from the original terrazzo sculptures by Carleton Watson Angell. The original pumas will return, to be displayed indoors eventually.
The Museum will host a Puma Party on Saturday, June 2, 3-5 PM. Details and photos of the pumas are on the Museum's website.

UM Chemistry Department Celebrates 150th Birthday
The UM Chemistry Department has scheduled special events, including symposia, lectures and workshops, to celebrate 150 years. A full schedule is on the department website. Friday's talks are in the Chemistry Building, Room 1800.

Askwith Media Library Now Offers Advance Scheduling
Beginning Wednesday, May 16th, UM faculty and staff will be able to schedule Askwith Media Library material in advance on Mirlyn. Simply access Mirlyn, login, search for the material you wish to reserve, click on "location," then "booking," and follow instructions
An automatic one day "head" and "tail" time is inserted between reservations on an item. The AML asks that patrons make online requests a day or more in advance. AML materials are ready for pick-up on the morning of the requested day. Scheduling in advance is especially valuable for instructors who use AML material in class and want to guarantee the loan. Feel free to communicate this to instructors who might be interested, and give it a try yourself!
