UC 170 - Digital Research: Critical Concepts and Strategies

This course will be offered again Fall Term 2007.

This one-credit, hands-on course helps students lay a solid foundation for success in all current and future academic research. The course emphasizes digital resources, information discovery and critical thinking.

The course is taught by University Library librarians, and is open to first year students, including those with sophomore standing due to AP credits. Section 001, Natural Sciences will meet Thursdays at 3 PM.

Students who took UC 170 in Winter 2007 reported being very satisfied and were eager to recommend it to others. Even though they had done online and library research before, they found it beneficial to learn how to use many more databases and resources such as ProQuest, Mirlyn and RefWorks.
