Jumpstarting Your Library Usage: New Series for Science Grad Students
Need an intro to the Library's online resources? This fall, the Science Library is offering a series of courses for new science graduate students aimed at giving you the tools you'll need to support your research. All classes meet on Friday from 12:10 to 1:00 in the University Library Instructional Center, on the 4th floor of the Shapiro Library building (room number 4059). Science Library Tours Available 8/30 - 9/6
To kick off the semester, the Science Library is offering short tours of our facilities in the Shapiro Library. If you're new to campus, or just want a quick refresher on where certain materials are located, this is a great way to get to know the Library! Tours are offered at the following times:
Thursday, August 30 11:00 AM
Friday, August 31 12:00 noon
Tuesday, September 4 3:00 PM
Wednesday, September 5 2:00 PM
Thursday, September 6 12:00 noon
Tours will begin from the 3rd floor of the Shapiro Library building, in front of the Science Library information desk, and will last about half an hour. No registration is needed - feel free to drop in!

NCBI Short Courses Offered on Databases and Informatics
Biologists from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) will offer short courses on NCBI Resources, Pubchem and Bioinformatics:
Th, Sept. 20 Field Guide to NCBI Resources
F, Sept. 21 Principles of Pubchem
Th-F, Oct 4-5 Mini-courses on Bioinformatics
Courses are hosted by the Program in Bioinformatics, the Dept. of Human Genetics and the Health Sciences Libraries.
