Collections Review 2009

As described in a recent memo from Paul Courant, University Librarian and Dean of Libraries, increases in the cost of library materials continue to be high. Given the current economic environment, the University Library is preparing a variety of cost-containment strategies for the coming fiscal year. As part of this planning effort, subject specialist librarians have carefully reviewed the Library's ongoing subscription commitments to identify possible savings, while making every effort to minimize reductions in access for the campus. In some cases, we may choose to let print subscriptions go while retaining electronic access. In other cases we are proposing full cancellation of journal subscriptions, which would then be available primarily through Interlibrary Loan.

View the lists of proposed cancellations at http://sitemaker.umich.edu/collectionsreview2009/home. This page includes links for your feedback.

Please send us your thoughts by May 22, so we can incorporate your comments into our final decisions.
