Celebrating 150 years of Darwin!

2009 marks the bicentennial of the birth of Charles Darwin, one of the most influential biologists of the 19th century, and the 150th anniversary of his landmark publication, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. The Shapiro Science Library celebrates these events with a special book display on Darwin and the theory of evolution.

The display, in our Current Periodical Reading Room, consists of titles new and old including: Charles Darwin's zoology notes & specimen lists from H.M.S. Beagle, edited by Richard Keynes (2000); The life and letters of Charles Darwin, including an autobiographical chapter, edited by his son, Francis Darwin (1887); and of course, On the origin of species by Charles Darwin.

Stop by the Science Library and check it out!
