Scholarly Publishing/Open Access Field Trip
SEGSI Field Trip!!
Join us for a walk over to Palmer Commons for the following event.
We'll meet near the Reference Desk at the Graduate Library at 12:30pm and leave for Palmer Commons at 12:45pm.
---------------------------------------------------------------
All are welcome to attend the following event. Discussion will cover
important issues that impact knowledge access for libraries, scholars,
and the public. I highly recommend this session, as among other
important players specific to scholarship in the sciences, Heather
Joseph the Executive Director of Scholarly Publishing and Academic
Resources Coalition (SPARC) will be presenting. SPARC "is an
international alliance of academic and research libraries working to
correct imbalances in the scholarly publishing system." An awareness of
these issues is essential if you are entering the information
professions.
See their website for more information.
