Social Bookmarking at MLibrary
MTagger is the University Library's social bookmarking tool. This SEGSI workshop will introduce MTagger, demonstrate how it is different from other social bookmarking tools, and provide guidelines for tagging to maximize both personal effectiveness and collective benefit. Finally, we'll discuss the various ways tagging may be used outside of the application to generate resource guides.
At the conclusion of the presentation there will be time for experimentation.
Register for this session by visiting the Library Workshops Page. Selecting 'Upcoming Sessions' for a list.

Information Literacy: the library and the academy
We had a great turnout for the Information Literacy talk given by Lyod Mbabu last week. The event, the first in a series co-sponsored by Librarians' Forum and the Instructor College, featured Patricia Yocum offering a summary of what the library literature tells us about critical competencies for librarian instructors, and Loyd Mbabu describing the findings of his dissertation, "A content analysis of information literacy courses in master's degree programs of library and information studies".
If you were unable to attend, Loyd and Patricia's slides are available through the following Instuctor College website.

The discussion on this topic, which was interesting and lively at the talk, continues on the Librarians' Forum blog at the following URL. Look for the entry, Information Literacy Instruction in LIS, and follow the comments.
