What's up family? Allow me to welcome you to Project Soul. I want you to feel at home here, so go ahead and kick your shoes off, put your feet up, and get ready to enjoy this experience. Blogging is a new adventure for me, but I am more than well-equipped to handle the challenge. The expressions I will share here, are both to educate and to entertain. DON'T BE MISTAKEN: The diatribes that I provide are to provoke conversation, so definitely leave your thoughts in the space provided. BE HONEST WITH ME. I will not pull any punches on any subject, and since I am holding myself to this standard I expect YOU to do the same.
Now you might be wondering, "What is Project Soul all about?" The intended purpose of Project Soul, as stated earlier is to provoke conversation. Each category will have its own unique flavor. For instance, The Open Mic, will consist of original works of poetry, from myself and special guests. Sankofa will pay homage to Black history- the people, places, and events that have come to define the Black experience across the African diaspora. Everything from politics, to sports, to racism, to campus life, to human rights will be addressed. At times, I may come across as witty and charming, other times brutally honest, even angry. Rest assured, that my words are out of love and respect for people, and for the passion I have to see a change. I'm looking forward to the ride, and hope that you are all as excited as I am.
