Google Earth workshop
On October 22-23 there will be a workshop on using Google Earth in scientific research. Much of this will be about geostatistics, massive data sets, and visualization. These are major new frontiers for the field of statistics. The workshop looks excellent.

By the way, Google has been hiring a lot of statisticians recently.
