A few situations that have come to my attention involve providing temporary access to UM web services to non UM users. These users can collaborating faculty, special courses that do not go through the normal registration process, etc. We have this issue with the collaboration faculty in the predoctoral program and in the faculty development course we offer. I have in the past suggested Friends accounts but there is another option now - Sponsorship. Sponsorship does have a cost associated but provides more benefits than the Friends account. Are you aware of the Sponsorship ID which can be obtained? http://www.itcs.umich.edu/itcsdocs/r1458/

I just returned from the annual spring STFM meeting. I didn't know how useful the meeting would be from the educational technology perspective, however I felt that it would be very useful for me to have a better understanding of what family medicine is all about and see what other departments are doing.

There were actually a good number of sessions which were education technology based or strongly related. I found it very relevant and useful to see where we stand. I left feeling that we are doing very well at using technology to improve family medicine practice and education.

The highlights

Our presentations:
