BIT200 Search and Discovery

For our inclass assignment, I explored some blog search engines and found Sphere.com to be very interesting. In addition to being able to search on any topic of our choice, visitors are able to choose from a list of current searches, such as the Iraq Debate, ranked first, and John Edwards. The home page also provides a list of special topics, such as Pop Music and Tech News. Since I am interested in movies, I scrolled to Classic Movies and found an extremely interesting blog called Films and Reviews. Among the current articles on the site are such interesting items as "Shane and the Psychological Western" and an article about "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre." Also linked on Sphere's classic movies page was a site I had already visited for DVD reviews and liked, DVD Journal.

Back on Sphere's homepage, I clicked on Iraq Debate, which took me to a list of blogs with diverse opinions on the war from different liberal and conservative blogs, which I plan to explore later today.
