If I can keep patience
If I can keep focused
Alaska vs. Dallas
Very different assignments
Neither of which
Are easy fits and
Neither of which
Are easily working out
But at least I’m thinking
About the opportunities
About the differences
About the place, and places
About the steps, and stepping
About the way, and ways
I might be more
I might matter more
In one space, than the other
Under one circumstance
Or under another.
