As the Road Looms
We begin scrutinizing our budget, planning our travel and adjusting our plans with every slight breeze of necessary change.
I am surprised, honored and grateful to find that I have been the recipient of a full personal sponsorship, which has generously "paid" for my missionary investment. I alert the budget keeper to add my personal $160.00 donation towards whatever segment of our trip is most lacking in funds at the moment.
I have to account for the continued operation of my van pool while I am away, especially since I have successfully recruited my regular van pool back-up driver to join my team. I pen another announcement, and think, "Yeah, I would have made a great publicist."
9/21: 8:08 am: Hello, van pool team!
I am so excited to share with you that our alternate driver has made the decision to travel to New Orleans as part of my GITC reconstruction team this October!
The commitment means that both of us will not be available to drive the van pool from October 2nd through October 9. That means, we will need your help in coordinating how the van will keep going.
I am off beginning 10/1. I think the best plan to start with is that the back-up driver will drive home her last time on 10/1. I will pick her up in Tecumseh that evening. I think it would be better that the van not be left at the community center.
If anyone would like to be the primary driver for the week, I will cover half your gas cost for the month. If you want to share the duties, we'll work out the financial part of that, too. If anyone has any good ideas, questions or concerns, please let me know!
