I am recovering from a medical procedure I had yesterday and am in some serious pain. I was not prepared for the level of pain involved in the actual procedure, or in the recovery. Let's just say I feel like a human pincushion, burn victim, stapled-together, and mummified. Oh--my--god--did it hurt! If the literature I studied before deciding to have this procedure (yes, elective, but to resolve a 20-year uncomfortable condition) had said it feels like you are being burned alive from the inside and that they yank parts of your internals out through little holes, and that you can feel everything (with some local anesthesia that they didn't give time to work) I never would've done it. If the doctor doing it hadn't been kind and sympathetic during the course of the procedure, I would say that it was TORTURE. Dentist drilling and root canals cannot compete with the kind of pain I went through yesterday. Let's just hope that the condition is gone once I have recovered. Bloody hell!
