Old, But Still Funny
I was searching for a picture of Kim Jong Il (because he is wimpy looking in a funny way) when I noticed Poplicks.com: WEEKEND WRAP-UP: MAYDAY EDITION.
It included this very funny picture of Kim (possibly Photoshopped):

...and this summary of recent US and N. Korean relations:
International Relations 101: Bush called Kim Jong-il a "tyrant." This last weekend, North Korea responded by called Bush a "hooligan." The White House is expected to reply by referring to Kim Jong-il as either a "rascal," a "varmint," or "Lil Kim." Pyongyang will then make the 'neener-neener' face and refer to Bush as either a "scoundrel," a "taint" or "the home of Nell Carter."

Poop In A Bubble
OK... I thought the Japanese were the most adept at producing odd toilet-related inventions. But this British invention may give the Japanese a "run" for their money:
Indipod - the revolutionary sanitary system
You really must view the video demonstrating the use of the Indipod. The end of the video says that it is intended for use in vans, SUVs, etc.
I would really love to see somebody attempt to use it in a Cooper Mini or a Smart Fortwo. Sounds like something you could expect to see in a Mr. Bean movie.
Who knows, maybe the inventor is Japanese-English!

Wondermark: Old-Timey Comics
Wondermark by David Malki ! - 275: In which a Cat plays the Piano
This comic is pretty funny. I've seen several in this series so far. The only complaint I have is that the artist doesn't doctor the old art enough in some strips. Instead, it's the same image, just enlarged or repositioned. This one is one of the better examples from the series.

This is a cool game that I stumbled across: Double Wires.
It reminds me of how Spiderman gets around. It could appropriately be named "Double Web".

Space Opera 2000
I was searching for some Star Wars soundbites to include in my iTunes today (I like to hear a bit of dialog from my favorite movies thrown in my music mix at random) when I ran across something funny, odd, and creative. And since it involves music, I has spurred me on to finally creating a "music" category for my blog just to file it in. Although, this is so funny I still had to pick "funny" as tne primary category.
What I ran across as a result of an altavista.com audio search is the
Space Opera 2000 CD Preview. The North Cambridge Family Opera Company put on a production of the opera version of Star Wars: A New Hope and captured the audio. You should really take a listen to these preview MP3s. The most humorous parts are those of R2-D2.
I can't say it's good, but it is very creative.

Eerie Moving Lips
On the U-M Mac SIG mailing list today, I read a thread about somebody looking for text-to-speech software that could save the audio as a file. One respondent suggested Vox Machina. I thought this software may come in handy if it works well.
I found that the software does work well enough and it has some nice features, like recording to MP3 and allowing the ID3 tags to be set, etc. But it has one feature that's very entertaining, in an erie way. If you enable the lip-syncing feature, it shows a moving mouth that speaks the words. I think it's a little unsettling because it's only a mouth, like it' been cut from somebody's face. And it moves.
You've got to see it.

AIM Fight: Who Is More "Popular"?
This is a very silly little outlet for entertainment. You enter the AIM screen names of two people and you see who is more popular at the moment. Popularity is based on how many other people are signed in that have one of those two people in their contact lists. The "What is AIM Fight" link at the top of the page there shows a nice tree diagram that illustrates this. The acutal "fight" is kind of a let-down. It would be nice if if actually showed a tree diagram like that. For the next version, OK, bored AIM developers?

Online Comic: Healing Hands
"Healing Hands, Part 1" is a nicely drawn comic. The artist adds a new frame each day. I had a little trouble viewing it at first, because my keyboard has "page up" and "page down" keys, but no "page left" or "page right" keys.
