It's Del.icio.us !

Del.icio.us: An Easy Way to Store Bookmarks

This exercise really helped me learn how to utilize the tools that are given to me by the internet. Before learning about this site I always had the problem of not being able to find sites I found on other computers. I would have to take the time and send the sites to myself through e-mail. Del.icio.us allows me to save time and save as many sites as possible.

I think that this site will come in very handy when doing research. I can quickly save several different sites and sort through them later. I also liked that you could look through other people's bookmarks. Doing this helped me discover new and exciting sites that I had never seen found before.

All in all, I think that the del.icio.us exercise was very helpful.

Del.icio.us Lessons

What I Learned from Del.icio.us

At first the idea of tagging a site every day sounded tedious and annoying, but after doing it habitually for a week or two I began to enjoy this exercise. Del.icio.us is a very useful tool because it allows you to access your links from any computer.

Del.icio.us demonstrated it's real utility during my project for LHC250 because I had to do research and keep track of several sites. Because this was a project assignment, we would meet in public areas or at each other's houses where I did not always have access to my computer. Thus, I began to use Del.icio.us to find the sites I used for research. For example, I used Del.icio.us to find this website: Yahoo Careers. Without Del.icio.us, I would have wasted a lot of time refinding the same sites.

I plan to use this tool in the future, especially for projects such as my LHC250 presentation. However, I think I will delete some of the excess sites I tagged for Bit200 like: Facebook: I won't have a problem finding this site without Del.icio.us. Additionally, I think it will be easier to navigate the site faster if I have less sites. Thank you for introducing me to such a fabulous tool!

Grey's Greatest Moments

Greatest Moments Episode

"Grey's Anatomy" this week featured a montage of the series' greatest moments. While this was not as exciting as a new episode, it was way way better than another boring rerun. This special episode was hosted by...
.

DENNY

I did not like this choice of host because personally I am sick of Denny. The show has really nailed the story about Denny into the ground. I am sick of him! However, it was not a very big deal because he was only the host. Hopefully, the producers won't bring him back from the dead. Again.

This episode had a section on elevator scenes, which was pretty funny. It demonstrated all the awkward scenarios that happen when the interns and residents are stuck in the elevators together.

This episode also featured a montage of the show's hottest hook-ups. It showed scenes with Derek and Meredith, Addison and Sloane, Christina and Burke, Callie and George, and even Addison and Alex! It made me excited to see how these relationships develop in the future. How much longer can Callie and George last?!

While this montage was not boring to watch, it wasn't thrilling either. I cannot wait for a real episode to come out! Life just isn't as exciting without Grey's!

Del.icio.us: A New Twist on What Tastes Good

Del.icio.us: A New Twist on What Tastes Good

I was very skeptical when we were asked to tag websites daily. What does tagging even mean? And how would this be useful to me? Yet here I am at the end of the semester, and I use my delicious bookmarks daily. I have organized them so that even what I can't remember a website, for example a crossword puzzle website, I can still easily locate it. I have tagged my websites in multiple ways. For instance, websites having to do with the University of Michigan are tagged under umich, Michigan, and sometimes even college.

The tool bar was convenient to install, and easy to use. I liked the recommended tags, because it helped give me a sense in the beginning of how to categorize my favorite pages. Overall Del.icio.us has been one of the most useful internet tools I have used. I can now look at my bookmarks from whatever computer I am at. It sure does feel Delicious.

Desperate Housewives Week 9

"Dress Big"

FINALLY...On Sunday there was a new episode of Desperate Housewives, and it was definitely worth the wait.

No more clothes for Gabrielle

Gabby is heartbroken when she returns from shopping to find her whole wardrobe ruined because of a leak. I feel kind of bad for her becasue clothes are the only thing she cares about. She finds a new reason to date Victor, her politician pursuer...his ex-wife is storing her designer clothes at Victor's mansion. He won't let her borrow the clothes, she takes them anyway and ends up getting caught. While in the past she had been turned off by his overly confident demeanor, Victor finally reveals that he is embarrassed about the way he treated his wife. Gabby then responds that she could fall in love with the person he is showing her. It's weird that she likes a person who just admitted he neglected his wife for many years. Then he obviously

...buys her a new dress.

A New Uniform for Lynnette

I constantly talk about how Lynetteis my favorite character on Desperate Housewives, and this week was no different. Her storylines always seem the closest to reality in my opinion. Lynette and Tom and manage a pizzeria. The uniforms are bright orange shirts, which Lynette despises.

Tom loves the orange shirts. Of course, Lynette being the stubborn woman that she is refuses to wear the shirt, and storms out of the restaurant. When Tom doesn't come home that night, rushes to because to the pizzeria to find Tom unconscious on the floor. Tom had seriously injured his back, and now Lynette is left to run the restaurant on her own.

...she goes back to wearing the orange shirt.

This episode is filled with symbolism all revolving around clothes. Besides Lynette and Gabby, Susan finds her fiancé’s father wearing her lingerie. This represents the hidden secrets in both of their pasts. Also Edie uses clothes or lack there of as a tactic to get Carlos in bed. She says she'd like him to see her for who she really is, under her façade

...as she strips off her clothes!

Viewer Dissatisfaction

Reruns Cause Viewer Dissatisfaction

The past two weeks have been reruns for "Grey's Anatomy". It is very frustrating for viewers who really want to see the next episode!

Personally, I think it is is especially dumb that the producers decided to replay episodes from the current season, season 3. I have no desire to see a show that I saw two weeks ago. If they have to show old episodes, they should be old. I wouldn't mind reseeing an episode from the first season. From the business perspective, if I were an advertiser I would pay more to display my ad during an older rerun than a more recent one because more people would tune in.

Play Season 1 not Season 3 reruns please!

Additionally, as a student at University of Michigan, I would prefer to have reruns play during finals! Instead of during our last weeks of freedom.

The next episode better be superb to make up for the built up excitement over the past two weeks. I really hope that it is in line with my predictions. This is almost as exciting as making a bracket for March Madness!

The season ender will be George telling Callie that he slept with Izzie...and wants to be with her.

IZZIE STEVENS

Izzie will spend the rest of the season cooking (the activity she does when stressed) because she is upset that George won't talk to her. She wants George to talk to her because he is her best friend and she is in love with him. Izzie will have numerous awkward interactions with Meredith, Christina, and Alex who don't know that Izzie and George slept together. Alex will find out and it will be even more awkward.

Alex Karev

Alex will fall in love with the pregnant woman he rescused from the Ferry Boat accident. This woman's reconstructive surgery will make her beautiful and Alex will struggle to ask her out. The rest of the season will highlight his softer side.

Christina Yang

Christina will become more attentive to Burke and try to demonstrate that she truly loves him. Burke will push her away because he is stressed about the fight for new Chief of Surgery. As a result, Christina will become frustrated and sleep with her old flame and former professor. The season will end with Burke leaving Christina and Seattle.

Meredith Grey

I do not think there will be much of a plot line for Meredith for the rest of the season. She will just struggle to help Christina with her Burke troubles and be happy with Derek. Isn't interesting how the show is named after her, but is now straying from her as the main character?

The Florida Gators, who returned 5 starters this year, dominated Ohio State in the national championship. I however, expected this to happen. Florida has NBA-like talent with Noah, Green, Horford, Brewer, and Humphrey, basically ALL OF THEIR STARTERS! All of which has previously made a title run the year prior. Although Ohio State had the talent and Greg Oden, their lack of experience was the difference. Florida came out on a mission and set the tempo early, never allowing Ohio State to get comfortable.

This NCAA Basketball Championship gives Florida two in a row and also makes that 3 straight championships in the two major sports, football and basketball. The Florida Gators won the football National Championship this past fall.

Desperate Housewives Week 8

The Four Ladies of Desperate Housewives

Side note: This Sunday, there will be a new episode of Desperate Housewives on this week. It has been a long awaited break. Other bloggers have noticed this lapse as well. Visit desperateblog.

There are four actresses who make up the core of Desperate Housewives and are integral to the show.

Marcia Cross plays Bree Hodge. She is portrayed as the all American Housewife. Bree has impeccable taste, and is an amazing cook and housekeeper. All the husbands on Wisteria Lane are envious of her. But she does have hidden secrets as well. She can't control her kids, she her boyfriends are insane and frankly she is a little neurotic. Overall, she is just a perfectionist.

"...Everyone on Wisteria Lane thought of Bree as the perfect wife and mother. Everyone that is, except her own family."-Mary Alice Young

Susan Mayer is played by Teri Hatcher. She is a single mom struggling in the dating world. Susan is a children's book writer, but it doesn't seem like she is ever working. Her clumsiness, bad luck, and bubbly personality are just some of the qualities Susan is known for. Susan has one daughter who is in high school, but the daughter is more of a best friend than a daughter.

"It was common knowledge on Wisteria Lane that where Susan Mayer went, bad luck was sure to follow. Her misfortunes ranged from the commonplace, to the unusual, to the truly bizarre." -Mary Alice Young

Felicity Huffman plays my favorite character Lynette Scavo. She is trying to balance work and family life while still having a strong relationship with her husband. With her 4 kids and a step daughter, and the opening of her family pizzeria, Lynette certainly has her hands full.

"She used to see herself as a career woman, and a hugely successful one at that. She was known for her power lunches, her eye-catching presentations, and her ruthlessness in wiping out the competition. But unfortunately for Lynette, this new label frequently fell short of what was advertised."-Mary Alice Young

The only housewife without kids is Gabrielle Solis, who is played by former model Eva Longoria. She recently divorced her husband Carlos, however it is unclear whether or not they are still in love. Gabrielle was against kids at first, but as the seasons have gone on, it seems that she actually really wants a baby.

"I should have seen how unhappy she was. But I didn't. I only saw her clothes from Paris, and her platinum jewelry, and her brand new diamond watch. Had I looked closer, I'd have seen that Gabriellewas a drowning woman, desperately in need of a life raft. Luckily for her, she found one."-Mary Alice Young
