One Tree Hill Drama

I started watching One Tree Hill back in High School, but haven't watched in a few years until recently. I was completely surprised to discover that all of the character relationships have changed. Lucas and Brooke and Nathan and Haley were the perfect couples. Now, Lucas is dating Brooke's best friend Peyton and Brooke isn't too happy about this. To give Lucas the benefit of the doubt, Brooke did break up with him, but dating the best friend isn't usually the best idea. Here's a picture of the new couple, Lucas and Peyton:

After Haley had her big music break and ditched her husband Nathan to go on tour, I never thought they would stay together. All they did was fight on the phone and Haley seemed to be flirting with her tour partner. But now, she's back and having a baby with Nathan! I never would have guessed this could happen. The only problem is, Nathan got involved with some bad powerful people who are demanding money from him and he is hiding it from Haley.

The final new drama is between Nathan and Lucas' dad, Dan and Lucas' mom, Karen. Dan has always been the villain of the show and treated Karen like dirt. Now, he is divorcing his drug addicted wife (Nathan's mom) and trying to win back Karen after all these years.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton a Racist?

In the past couple of weeks many incidents have come up regarding Paris Hilton and racist remarks. There were the videotapes stolen from her house that reportedly show her and sister Nikki making racist comments about two black men behind their backs at a party. Then there was the footage from the parking garage where Paris goes on a racist rant that was broadcast nationwide complete with “bleeps” ever other second. But has Paris apologized? No, she has simply made excuses.

Hollywood typically does a great job of punishing stars that publicly make inappropriate comments whether about race, religion, or any other controversial subject. Mel Gibson is a prime example. He has been completely rejected from Hollywood, forced to make many, many public apologies, and has still not been forgiven by the media for his anti-Semitic comments during his arrest. Paris, however, seems to have gotten away scotch free, and cameras continue to follow her party hopping as though nothing has changed.

This issue absolutely outrages me. I believe that because Paris is portrayed as out of control and ridiculous, people accept inappropriate behavior from her without expecting retribution. There is, however, a difference between dancing inappropriately on a table at a club in a too-short skirt and making awful racial slurs into a camera. Paris may seem like an idiot, but I’m 100% sure that she knows that when cameras are on her, that the public will have access to the footage. For this reason, I think Paris deserves to be held accountable for her actions and words. The media needs to stop making excuses for her and force this heiress to finally grow up.

The O.C. Season 4...A Tragic Ending to a Fabulous Teen Drama

No More Ryan Atwood or Seth Cohen...

Over the years, the O.C. has been more than the usual television drama. The O.C. was the lunch room gossip in high school, and the dorm room bonding experience for girls in colleges everywhere. So, with only a few episodes left...it is only right we pay tribute to the T.V. drama, which throughout the last four seasons has made and strengthened friendships. Many may have thought that The O.C. would have lost it's witty drama after Misca Barton left the show, but in my opinion, it has gotten much better. Characters Ryan, Seth, Summer, and Taylor all experience many teenage events that almost any viewer can relate with. I will truly miss this show's high fashion style as well as the teenage drama that seemed to mimic my life. If you get the chance, make sure to watch the upcoming season finale and buy the fourth season on DVD...you will not be disappointed!

Desperate Housewives becoming Desperate Househusbands?

After watching last week's episode of Desperate Housewives, I have decided that the show is taking an interesting turn. In the past, most of the drama has surrounded the housewives and their crisis' but now there is drama between the men. The scene where Ian, Mike and Orson play poker was intriguing. Mike seems to be the center of conflict and he isn't even anyone's husband. Mike and Orson have an agreement not to report the other to the police and Mike and Ian both want Susan. I personally think this new drama is a great addition to the show and keeps the show from getting old.

One of my new favorite characters is Andrew. In the last season, he did nothing but create havoc for Bree, but since his return from living on the streets, he has done everything in his power to protect his mom while at the same time remaining devious, which I like. I especially like his sense of humor and how he handles his now pregnant sister, Danielle. She has opened up a whole new can of worms. Her pregnancy with Austin causes lots of drama between the kids. I love how Danielle, Austin, Julie and Andrew have their own mini-level of desperateness. Will Danielle go to Europe with her parents and "study abroad" or will the pregnancy get blown out into the open? I can't wait until Sunday! Gwen Stefani Concert

It would be B-A-N-A-N-A-S if you missed it

Gwen Stefani is finally doing a tour, however it is not with band No Doubt--she is going on her solo performances. Rumor has it that it will be with Akon especially with their new hit song Sweet Escape (which is personally absolutley love)! This will be a great combination and I highly recommend it. They will be touring the U.S starting around late April. If you are interested in going and will be in Michigan, the concert will be Friday June 1st at the Palace in Auburn Hills. She has many dates in the U.S. Additionlly Stefani will be performing abroad also such as in U.K and possibly Japan. She has gathered a great following after going solo and plans to please her fans that are all across the Globe!

Be sure to hurry up and buy tickets.

This concert is highly anticipated and will be definatley a "Sweet Escape" from your everyday hassles!!

Sex & The City Movie!

SEX...in the movies!!

The Sex & The City Movie is as "on again...off again" as Carrie's relationship with Mr. Big. With the series ending a couple years ago, talk of a movie has been in the works since the shows finale. Although due to personal conflict, the cast of stylish ladies have left us in the dark as to whether or not there will be a final film in which to look forward.

As a HUGE Sex & The City fan, I am pleased to hear that after much disputing, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon are ready to ressurect their saliciously sexy “Sex and the City” characters for the big screen. The script is already under construction and filming should begin shortly after. Having already re-watched all my DVDs of the entire show, I will be greatly relieved to have more Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda into my life.

The O.C.

Bye-Bye to the OC

On Wednesday, January 3rd, The OC announced that this will be its last season. With the finale quickly approaching, it is hard to believe that a show that started out with so much success can be ending after only four seasons. I must admit, however, that I am glad that the producers are pulling the plug before the show goes completely downhill. At least it will be remembered for the cultural phenomena that it was.

The cause of this quick ending is more than likely the drop in ratings that the OC has experienced over the past couple of years. This season, it averages around 4 million viewers, a huge drop for the initial 9 million people that tuned in every week.

I think the show’s executive producer said it best when he said, “For a certain audience, at a certain time, The OC has meant something.” I know for me personally, the OC will be something I remember when reminiscing about my high school and early college days, and I’m sure I’ll be adding the DVD’s to my collection sometime soon.

Spiderman 3

Will it live up to the past 2?!

The release date for this movie is May 4th 2007. Being a huge Spiderman fan myself, I am highly anticipating the third installment for this trilogy. I am very excited for it and will see it on the opening day. Topher Grace will be appearing in this installment as well as a few new characters. In the third one the main point will be Spiderman overcoming his darkness that lies within him. I never really followed the comics so I do not know how well it will follow the actual story line. In this movie Peter is planning on proposing to MJ and he will also be dealing with the man that shot his uncle and the Green Goblin. Additionlly he has the Sandman aspect to worry about as well. As you can see there is a lot to keep Peter Parker busy in order to retain the peace of this Marvel Comic World. It should be a great movie, and I read rumors that he considering doing a Spiderman 4...we will see. Anways, it is in theatres in a couple of months so get excited!! Flowers...A Blooming New Trend!

Anna Nicole's Baby--DNA Results Are In!

We've all heard that "April Showers Bring May Flowers," but this time it is Hollywood bringing these floral accessories. As a new trend for 2007, Fashion experts are expecting the use of flowers in clothing and accessories to come back into style. Many celebrity females, such as Beyonce, have been seen walking the red carpet with flowers in their hair. These blossoming beauties use the flowers to create a soft, elegant, and refreshing look. As for myself, I am all for wearing flowers in your hair...and I will be sure to uphold this trend during the summer months when it gets warm enough in Michigan to even find a flower! As far as floral clothing, this may need a bit more time and effort, but I think that eventually, this could be a 2007 summer trend. But for now, just grab some orchids and within no time, you will be a fashionista this spring!

Grey's Anatomy

I was sadly disappointed on Wednesday when I went to the Grey's Anatomy website to find that last night's show was another rerun. I hate how they always take a few weeks off in a row, it's hard to remember every little detail from the previous episode with that much time! The good news is, next week brings a new episode so my anxiety can subside. Now that Meredith is awake, what could be the next big thing to happen? I originally heard there would be three weddings this season. George and Callie were one, Christina and Burke is the second, but who could be third? My prediction is either Meredith and McDreamy or Addison and either Alex or McSteamy?

In the most recent episode, Addison and McSteamy decided to give a relationship a try if McSteamy could be abstinent for 60 days and McSteamy insists Addison be abstinent too. When Addison asks who she could possibly be sleeping with, they flip the camera to a scene with Alex. There is definitely some chemistry between her and Alex, and I forsee the couple hooking up pretty soon. I don't know if this will ruin her chances with McSteamy, or if Alex is the one for her...I guess we'll just have to wait to find out.

Dixie Chicks

The Chicks are Back!

The Dixie Chicks have always been a favorite band of mine, but even I was skeptical about their ability to remain a successful band after their anti-Bush remarks at a concert last year. The concert was in London and Natalie Maines, a band member, informed the crowd that she was "ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

I was clearly wrong, and they came back stronger than ever with their album Taking the Long Way, nominated for and winners of five Grammys including Album of the Year and Song of the Year. Either Americans actually agree with Maines' rant, or they are just a forgiving bunch. Either way, the Chicks are back!

Scrubs...Greys + Humor = A Show You Should Watch

Scrubs...Greys + Humor = A Show You Should Watch!
As a huge Grey's Anatomy fan, I have been highly disappointed with this season's episodes. To fulfill my "medical drama" televtion, I have stumbled upon the NBC show "Scrubs." Like Greys Anatomy, Scrubs has a hospital setting with many witty charaters. The show has been on the air for many years and has once again been picked up by NBC for another season. With main character Zach Braff playing Dr. John Dorian "J.D." you can ensure that you will be in for a lot of laughs each episode. While incorporating humor, Scrubs also presents many moral values about life and death. Watching this show has made me consider wanting to become a doctor, but then they show a surgery scene and I quickly reconsider. One thought that you should not reconsider, however, is to watch NBC's Sitcom Scrubs. With diverse and entertaining characters and a great plot line, what's there not to enjoy about this 30 minute T.V. Show?

search & discovery

On samoore.stikipad.com, I used blog discovery. I clicked on Icerocket, where I was able to search myspace, the web, news and blog sites for links people have posted about topics I was interested. For example, I searched blogs for "iphone" and found thousands of articles pertaining to the iphone, something I post a lot of on del.ici.ous. I then typed "Sigma Kappa" (my sorority) and found blog entries people had posted on livejournal that contained that phrase. I was amazed that I stumbled across strangers personal diaries. I next used blog search and clicked on blogpulse. I used blogtrends to find out the most frequently discussed topics in blogs around the world. You can view the discussion topics by category. I looked under business, and read about gas, solar energy, etc. Just a few days ago, gasoline was a topic of conversation in 13% of blogs! Using blog search and blog discovery will help me find sites to tag on my del.ici.ous site. I was getting tired of using gadgets.originalsignal.com to find articles to post. Links posted on IceRocket will be especially helpful.

Tom Browkaw

He turned 67 Yesterday!

I am sure all of you know who Tom Brokaw is. This famous NBC news anchor has left a legacy for Broadcast Journalists everywhere. He was the most watched news at one point during his program "NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw." Though he retired in December of 2004, he has left a strong legacy to live up to. I personally do not feel that NBC has been able to do that well over the past few years. They lost their hit shows Friends, Seinfield, just to name a couple as their seasons ended.

Anyways, I grew up watching Tom Brokaw because my parents felt it was a good idea for me to watch his news as a child because they were both huges fans. Because of this personal attachment that I have for him, I though I would just say Happy Birthday Mr. Brokaw--you were a great Broadcast Journalist!
