Smallville

Smallville-Not so Small!

So I feel like this is a show that for some reason not enough people talk about. I know that the show has a HUGE following, I mean afterall it is going on its sixth season really strong! I bought the first season randomly one summer because that was when DVD's started being released of TV shows. It ended up being a great show and I quickly went through the 4th season. I do have all four on DVD. I have kept up with the most recent episodes and it is getting much more intriguing. I am however, waiting for the writers to take it to the next level.

Smallville has been great for the CW (what used to be the WB), and has helped with spin-off shows such as Super Natural and Oliver Queen: Legends of the Green Arrow which is meant to start soon. However, since Smallville is on a new night, thursdays, this is also when Grey's, the O.C, and Ugly Betty are on.

Luckily, there are many sites that upload the episodes so it is easier to keep up on the show.

Anna Nicole...Drug Overdose


Anna Nicole Smith...Cause of Death

Autopsy results show that Anna Nicole Smith's death may be due to an accidental drug overdose. This news is not quite shocking due to her extravagant lifestyle. Anna Nicole has been known for her drug use over the years, and this excessive drug use even took the life of her son a couple months ago. I think it is quite sad that Anna Nicole lost her life to an accidental overdose. In my opinion drugs are not a good way to deal with depression. I believe Anna Nicole could have lived a long life had someone intervened on her troubled habits. Is anyone else to blame for Anna's death? Her husband Howard spent most of his time with Anna Nicole. Should we blame him for not stopping Anna's destructive behavior? Anna's mix of sedative drugs, perscribed for depression and anxiety ultimately caused her death. Anna Nicole's death is a sad reminder to always be careful when using any type of drug, prescribed or not, and to always remember to take the right dosage.

Investigating the deaths of Anna Nicole and Daniel Smith


The autopsy results are in and the latest update is that Anna Nicole's death was due to a drug overdose. It is still being investigated whether her overdose was suicide, homicide or accidental. One new theory is that the antibiotic she was taking interacted with the caffeine in soda she was drinking to prevent her from sleeping. As a result, she overdosed on chloral hydrate, medication she took to sleep. All three drugs were present in her toxocology report, especially a large amount of chloral hydrate, so this theory definitely has a leg to stand on. Click here for the full details. As far as Daniel's death goes, a hearing began Tuesday in the Bahamas to investigate potential homicide or suicide. We know he overdosed on methadone, but what we don't know is if it was on purpose, accident, or if he was drugged by someone else... This article has full details on Daniel's hearing.
Daniel Smith died in the Bahamian hospital while visiting his mother and newly born sister, Dannielynn. The picture above is the last picture ever taken of Daniel. To me it's quite ironic that Anna named her daughter after her son and her son dies shortly after she gives birth to her daughter. Both mother and son dying of drug overdoses within one year sounds fishy, but then again both had a lot of problems. I am curious to see how the Anna Nicole Smith mystery unravels..Who is Dannielynn's biological father? Were Anna and Daniel poisoned? Only time will tell.

American Idol

Is American Idol Producing Great Talent, or Great Hair?

This season of American Idol has been hugely criticized for being more about looks than talent, especially with the continued success of Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar who, in many peoples opinion, including the judges, doesn’t have a great voice. It has been said that his constantly changing hairstyle has gotten more attention from Idol fans than the real talent of some of Sanjaya’s costars, such as Lakisha Jones (my personal favorite, a graduate of the University of Michigan who grew up in Flint).

In my opinion, this really isn’t a problem at all. The bottom line is that the winner of American Idol needs to sell records. Sanjaya may not be able to sing, but the millions of teenage girls that keep him in the competition week to week are also likely to go out and buy his CD.

No matter how you look at it, American Idol continues to be a successful show, occasionally turning out a Kelly Clarkson or Carry Underwood that finds success in the real world of Hollywood. The show consistently draws in around 26 million viewers each episode and the number of votes received tends to be around 35 million. These ratings could get even better as the show brings on guest judges, you can look forward to a Jennifer Lopez led Latin themed episode and Martina McBride bringing a little country to the Idols.

Britney Spears Leaves Rehab!
After entering rehab on February 22, 2007, Britney Spears is finally out after only about a month. Ms. Spears "after successfully completing the program" left the Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility and has been last spotted attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. I think that it is wonderful Britney had the courage to face her problems and go to rehab. It is important that she is a good role model not only for her millions of fans, but for her two small childern. Ms. Spears' recent troubles with alcohol may play an influencial role in the current custody battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. I hope everything works out for Britney Spears and that she does gain custody of her children. Everyone has problems and I admire Britney Spears for admitting she needs help. Hopefully Britney will turn her life back around and regain her status as a pop music idol in the years to come.

Paul McCartney Signs with Starbucks

Starbucks opens Record Label

So I was just browsing CNN.com just because I wanted to see what was going on in the the world today. Thought I would jump to the entertainment section to work on my blog. So, I was very surprised to see that Starbucks, yes the coffee place, is opeing up a record label with Paul McCartney-a former Beatle- as their first person. Starbucks has been selling for CD's for a while now and has helped also produce a full legnth film before. The article on CNN.com stated many other things that Starbucks has been doing to broaden their industry. Who knew that one day Starbucks would be producing music featuring the most popular Beatle member. I am sure that all Beatle fans are thrilled about this and are super duper excited to hear a new album, afterall I am assuming that one will be produced if he has signed onto the label. However, I must dispute, that Starbucks making a record label, a bit odd since if you are ever to say oh Starbucks produced it, all I will think of is my Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte....mmmmm.

"At World's End" is coming after all

Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End finally has a trailer and is still scheduled to be released on Memorial Day! I guess Disney was just a little behind on the advertisements, although I still haven't seen any on TV yet...Some blog critics already think the trailor is weak. I myself watched the trailor and was a bit disappointed, but then again I watched it without sound because I was in the Grad and I forgot my headphones...Johnny Depp must find a way out of the sea monster because he's first shown alone on the deck of a boat in what looks like the South Pole (The World's End?) then he is rejoined by his friends throughout the rest of the trailor. I'm guessing Kiera Knightley and Orlando Bloom find Johnny relatively early in the film because it's rumored to be almost three hours long. Over the past decade, America has seen a huge transition from the days where supermodels graced the cover of every major magazine. These days, even fashion magazines feature movie stars and music stars rather than supermodels, and Beyonce Knowles' appearance on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition confirmed that times have changed.

Beyonce was the first non-model to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. She appeared in a cute yellow bikini and admitted that, "It takes a lot of guts," because she is, "really a shy person."

This is also a first for Beyonce, as she has never been photographed in a swimsuit aside from the occassional paparazzi shot. Apparently, she was waiting for the right moment, and this was it. The photos also clearly showed the transformation of Beyonce's body from curvy and volumptuous to thin and solid. Either way, there is no doubt that Beyonce is a beautiful, confident woman.

MTV The Hills...Fact or Fiction?


MTV's The Hills!

If you haven't yet watched MTV's The Hills, you are missing out on quality teenage drama. Staring Lauren Conrad, from Laguna Beach, the show focuses on Lauren and her friends Heidi, Audrina, and Whitney as they try to find success in Los Angeles. Lauren and Whitney work as interns at Teen Vogue. The show presents the latest trends and reveals an interesting behind the scenes look at the fashion industry. Although, do not forget that this show is on MTV, so of course there is a lot of drama! All four girls are looking for love in L.A. Between breakups and hookups, the show keeps you on the edge of your seat each week...but how much of this is actually real?


Yes, all of the girls are rich and pretty, but how realistic is the drama? The show presents several different plots all surrounding love, work, and troubled friendships. Trendy clubs and restaurants set the background for much of the show, but the dialog within each short segment is brief and almost too "perfect." With best friends who are backstabbers and cheating boyfriends, can all four girls really keep finding the same situations over and over again? I recomend watching the show for yourself...even if the show is scripted, you will have a couple laughs and see some hot fashion wardrobes!

Anna Nicole Smith Dies


Anna Nicole Smith Dies at Age 39


Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday at a South Florida hospital after being discovered unconscious in her hotel room. The reality TV star, Playboy Playmate and former Guess model was 39. She checked into the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on Monday with her lawyer and boyfriend, Howard K. Stern. Smith's private nurse called hotel workers at 1:38 p.m. She was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood at 2:10 p.m. where she died.

I think Anna Nicole's death is a tragic ending to her sad life. Having recently lost her only son, Daniel, Anna Nicole has been struggling to overcome his death. As of this point, her cause of death is unknown. I suspect drug use as Anna Nicole has been known for substance abuse. The TrimSpa spokeswoman will truly be missed. Anna Nicole has entertained millions over her short life and the entertainment industry will truly miss her unexpectable behavior. From modeling in Playboy to her reality television show "The Anna Nicole Show," Anna will always be remembered as a spontaneous and entertaining star. Desperate for More Desperate Housewives

Desperate for More!

I have found this season of Desperate Housewives particulary interesting. With my dissapoint due to Grey's Anatomy's mindless season, I have found an even stronger passion for Desperate Housewives. Whenever I think that it starts to get dull, it picks up again. Recently changing the narrator voice to a males voice intrigues me, although I must say it is just not the same without the original woman.

I mean after all it has won the 2005 and 2006 Golden Globe for Best Televison Series-Musical or Comedy. The great thing about the show is that it is not that hard to jump into right away. Also, abc has decided to make watching their T.V shows much easier for there fans by putting the episodes on their website at 2AM that same night it was aired. So if for some reason you have been missing out on Desperate Housewives, Click here, and go on and enjoy the mystic that surrounds the one and only Desperate Housewives.

Whether you love this couple or hate this couple, it’s impossible to deny the impact of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s attempt to give back to the world that has given them so much. Back in September, they established the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, immediately donating $2 million to Doctors Without Borders and Global Action for Children. In addition to these huge donations, Brangelina has been traveling the globe to personally make a change.

Even during the pregnancy and birth of daughter Shiloh, Angelina and husband Brad were in Namibia working with the country’s state hospitals to supply better health care, especially to pregnant women. This superstar couple received a reported $4.1 million dollars for allowing People Magazine to publish the first pictures of their highly anticipated baby which they also donated almost immediately.

This month, the Jolie-Pitt family is in India while Jolie shoots her upcoming film A Mighty Heart. I must admit, when Brad initially left Jennifer Anniston for Angelina, I was not his biggest fan. However, this couple and their new family has finally convinced me that they truly are good people with great intentions. The latest gossip on Brangelina is that they plan to adopt a baby from Ho Chi Minh City. Quite honestly, with these two, nothing surprises me anymore.

Snoop Doggy Dog


Snoop Dog was all over headlines today. He was arrested for suspected drug use after the opening night of his European tour with P Diddy last night. Click here for the details. The more I googled "snoop arrested" the more articles I found. The rapper apparently has a long history of arrests, weapons charges, as well as drug possession and selling. Who knew the sweet "Huggy Bear" from Starsky and Hutch was such a troublemaker?
Huggy Bear was a mobster who helped out the police, but wasn't dishonest in a bad way. He was like the "good bad guy." The other image I always have of snoop in my head is in the movie Old School, where he raps at Mitchapalooza. He seems like such a friendly sweet guy. I never would have guessed that he carries a gun and his entourage has a history of roughing up police officers. Here's some history on their run-ins. On the flip side, maybe the police are just out to get Snoop. He never actually stays in jail or trouble, and his lawyer claims he is innocent! Maybe he gets the judge to drop his charges like they're hot...

Justing Timberlake comes to Detroit

Future Sex/Love Show


Yesterday I was one of the many thousands of lucky people graced to see the one and only Justin Timberlake in concert! Let me tell you, it was AWESOME! Seeing him on a music video is one thing, but to actually see him dance in person is another. Every girl that I was with wished that she was one of the dancers on stage to be so close to JT. Granted we were in the mezzanaine level, we did not get the luxury to be so close to him. It was opened by Pink, I am not a big fan of her. I also did not watch her because on our way in, we were told that no cameras were allowed. So we had to go back to the car and leave them there.


Justin came up out of the stage for his opening song. He also had Timbaland there so he could rap where he needed to! He performed Gone, an N'Sync song on his own!!!! He also did a thing where he played music videos of other artisits in the middle of his concert. I do not know how much I enjoyed that, after I did pay to see Justin.

He sang "What Goes around Comes Around", "My Love," and many other songs. He ended the concert with "Sexy Back." He then came back with an encore presentation and it was amazing!! All I can say is that after this concert, Justin truly did bring Sexy back!!!!

Anways, I could go for hours about Justin. We did get our pic taken by photographer though and you should check it out!

Britney claims postpardum depression

I find the Britney Spears saga quite interesting, so every time I see a new article about her I have to read it. Britney's latest claim is that she is simply suffering from postpardum depression and her family forced her unecessarily into rehab. Call me crazy, but isn't drinking when your depressed a sign of alcoholism? Britney also says she has no drug or alcohol problem but in my opinion, denial is another is sign of a problem.

Since Britney clearly couldn't cry her way out of rehab, shaving her head must've been her next cry for attention. I don't think it's the kind of attention she was looking for. I just feel sorry for her kids. postpardum depression should subside within a few weeks, otherwise medical treatment is needed. Even if Britney truly suffers from postpardum, it's been going on for five months and medical attention is necessary regardless of her problem. In addition, drug and alcohol abuse is not a generic symptom. Whatever her issues are, Britney needs help and I just hope she realizes it soon.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3


Pirates of the Caribbean 3 is scheduled to be released in late May, yet I haven't seen or heard any advertisements for it yet. This article has the same worries. Granted I don't watch nearly as much television as I used to, there still aren't any billboard or radio ads either. I recently read a news story that says Johnny Depp's daughter is seriously ill . Maybe filming as been delayed as he tends to her. I hope the movie doesn't miss it's release date, because I can't wait any longer to find out what happens! At the end of the second movie, viewers are left with the idea that Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and their crew are going to travel across the world to release Johnny Depp from the seamonster that swallowed him. I am especially excited to see what happens, because Keira Knightley handcuffed Johnny Depp to the Black Pearl and led Orlando Bloom and the others to believe he volunteered to go down with his ship. The catch is, Orlando knows that something is fishy, because he saw Keira kiss Johnny. I have a hunch Keira may end up with Johnny because in the last movie, the compass that was supposed to point to her heart's greatest desire always pointed to Johnny when she held it. I suspect Johnny has similar feelings for her. I just feel sorry for Orlando, because he has done nothing but love Keira and now he saw Keira kiss Johnny and we have no idea what he is thinking about it! I guess i'll just have to wait for the premiere to answer all of my questions and test my hunches...I just hope Pirates 3 makes the May 25th release!

Nicky Hilton is getting sued!



It's a good thing Nicky Hilton stands to inherit about $30million dollars, because she is getting sued. Due to her recent hotel openings, or lack there of, Nicky Hilton is being sued by a hotel renovation company for the delay over her hotel renovation project. I guess the name "Hilton" does not neccessarily entitle you to have great hotel managerial skills, as Nicky has failed to complete both two hotel locations. With both projects looking as a failed investment, we can only hope that Nicky can use her family's guidance to help lift this project out of the gutter and up towards the Hilton hotel standard...or maybe she should just stick to designing purses.

Is Grey's Going Downhill?

Is Grey's Going Downhill?

Perhaps it is because it is not up to what it was during 2nd season. Maybe it is because there is only a certain amount of medical cases that can be shown. Maybe it is because it has become too much like a soap opera focusing on the characters personal lives, versues the cases. Whatever the reason, Grey's Anatomy does not seem to have the same following as it used to. Whether it be that the 2nd season ended on such a high and the third season has not lived up to it. I do not know.

Mind you, as a die hard fan, I myself have been very dissapointed with this season of Greys. They had a three episode event, which to me was not that impressive. Especially trying to make the audience think that Meredith died was not the best move on their part. After all, if they made her die, the show would lose many watchers. However, if they did not kill her, the show would just be predictable. While I am glad they did not kill her I truly hope that the Grey's writers, pull themselves together and go back to some quality second season writing! Click here for Summaries!

Reality TV Teens: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

I must admit that MTV’s reality series Laguna Beach has been a guilty pleasure of mine since the very beginning. Good looking teenagers, a beautiful location, and lots of drama; what’s not to love? This reality television show propelled these “regular people” into instant stardom, and the results have been quite interesting.

Lauren, better known as LC, was always a favorite of mine, and now has moved on to another reality show, The Hills. It is obvious that her connections, not skills, landed her an amazing internship with Teen Vogue. When she’s not in the office or off on some amazing photo shoot, she’s partying in LA with her friends. Not a bad life if you ask me.

Unfortunately for Lauren’s ex-boyfriend, Jason, life after Laguna Beach didn’t turn out quite as well. He was recently arrested for the second time after his out of control behavior towards a road crew truck driver that was blocking in his car. After a series of racial slurs and threats resulted in the cops coming to the scene, Jason received a breathalyzer and blew a .22, over twice the legal limit. It seems that for him, life in the spotlight is going to ruin his reputation, not help it.

On a better note, Tallan from Laguna Beach, on and off crush of the star, Kristen, has recently announced his engagement to Rod Stewart’s daughter Kimberly. This came as a huge shock to me. Tallan always seemed level headed and kind, not the type to marry an heiress with unhealthy partying habits.

Clearly these teenagers have done some growing up, and I can’t help but occasionally feel sorry for them. Living life in the spotlight of Hollywood may be fun, but without any future plans or any promise of continued stardom, where are these 20-somethings going to go when their fans lose interest?

Britney Spears has lost her mind

I couldn't believe that Britney Spears had shaved her head until I saw the video on Entertainment Tonight. I usually try to keep up with US Weekly, but I apparently missed the memo that Britney had been in and out of rehab. I recently read an article about her leaving her two infants at home to go out and party all of the time. In the article they said she decided at the club that she didn't like her skimpy red dress anymore and instead found a bouncer's bathing suit to wear...now that's definitely an action of someone on drugs. But back to her hair-I heard she didn't want people "touching her anymore" so she just shaved her head so there would be no hair to touch. Now that's not the Britney that sang "Hit me baby one more time" that we all loved. I don't know what has gone wrong with her, whether it's postpardum depression, her split from k-fed or just a severe drug addiction, but Britney Spears has lost her mind. Friends

T.V show that is always there for you!

I first started watching this show seriously my senior year of high school because my Dad bought the first season on DVD. I stayed up until 4 in the morning that night watching them under my covers iin my room. That is when I became hooked. This show sadly had to end but it is always there if I ever feel down. Certain days I just feel bad about school, but I just pop in a friends DVD--i own all ten seasons--and I am able to immediately remmedy my pain.

I do think that the show hit a slump during the 9th season. Chandler was fat because of his drug addiction at the time, the writers were dull and did not have the usual humor, it was just very lackluster. While 10th season did pick up the slack I am sad it still ended.

None of their careers really went anywhere after the show however. Jennifer Aniston has a blossoming career but even that has not resulted in any blockbuster hits! They all have done different things however, they still will be branded as Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Joey, and Chandler. Courtney Cox started her new show Dirt on Fx which may launch her into another television series!
