The Great America Race: July 14 - July 21, 2007
Ravenchase Adventures is hosting The Great America Race,an eight day, seven state race July 14 - July 21, 2007. Starting from Richmond, Virginia, teams of two to six race by car, train, motorcycle, bus or boat, in rain or shine. Having never been on a Ravenchase game before, I can't vouch for the clues, but the website claims the will be "tough but solvable."

Iron Puzzler November 4-5, Oakland, CA
For those of us looking for a puzzle hunt with a twist, the Iron Puzzler might be for you. The first 24 hours is devoted to teams creating two new puzzles. The other teams will then attempt to solve and rate at a four hour competition the following day. At the start of the game, teams are given a list of three secret "ingredients," one of which must be incorporated into their clue. More information can be found at the Iron Puzzler website.

Herald Hunt 2006
This year's Herald Hunt will be held on October 29, 2006 in South Miami, Florida. There is a halloween theme with the appropriate costume contest. According to the Tropic Hunt Archives, the main puzzle part of the hunt will last about three hours.

Cryptic Crawl - Sparkhenaten's Tomb: Saturday, September 9, 2006
A new hunt has come across my radar today, the Cryptic Crawl. This years game, Sparkhenaten's Tomb, will be run on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Lower Huron Metropark. It's free to play the game, but you have to pay for to get into the park. To solve the puzzles, you can walk, bike or drive and there will be an easy and advanced route.

Ann Arbor Urban Scavenger Hunt: November 11, 2006
SMAC, the Southern Michigan Adventure Club is hosting a scavenger hunt in Ann Arbor on November 11, 2006. Teams of two will compete by "collecting information, items, and location points in an urban setting using navigation skills, riddles as well as UTM coordinates." This race isn't for folks who like to drive around in their cars - only human powered modes of transportation are allowed. Online registration is now open. Details from SMAC below.
Using any human powered transportation you and your team will navigate the urban jungle of Ann Arbor. This race is open to ALL: from Adventure Racers to families (*children above 12 yrs. old) wanting to experience some fun and adventure together.
DATE: November 11th NEW DATE!
TEAMS: 2 (any combination) teams may not split up
WHERE: Start/Finish ... to be announced
WHEN: Team Briefing at 11:30. Race runs from 12:00 pm - 17:00
HOW TO WIN?: A list of items will be given at the start - each item has a value and the team that collects the most points before the cut-off wins!
COST: $15.00 a person before Nov. 1. After Nov. 1st $20/person.
