Instr Tech Search Engine Updated
I updated the Instructional Technology personalized search engine using links Ron forwarded from last months SIG meeting.
As i have noted on the blog before, I prefer to feed URLs of good resources to a personalized search engine, rather than bookmarking them somewhere (like delicious) and never be able to harness the ability to use any of the content on those sites via a search.

Preconference Seminar: Learning Spaces
Since things change so fast, seems like it is better not to throw all the money at the same time into a technology blackhole the learning space can become. But then, grant deadlines do not allow that. They want you to spend the money by a certain date and thats that!
Evolution of spaces is really challenged by this grant deadline constraint.

"MIT's Open CourseWare program provides a great example of how the open source movement is impacting education. The Online Education Database also lists Project Gutenberg, Wikipedia, Linux, Firefox, and Google (?) as some of the other open source in education success stories. Open source and open access resources have changed how colleges, organizations, instructors, and prospective students use software, operating systems, and online documents for educational purposes. Each success story has served as a springboard to create more open source successes."

As you Zoho, shall you reap
Someone had to do it. Easy to use, shareable, syn and asynced Powerpoint presentations. Zoho show was introduced to me by a colleague. Check it out at Zoho.com.
I like the idea of embedding shows. I have tried the old antiuated route of uploading to flickr, creating a flash slideshow with slide.com and embedding it. Somehow, in my experience flickr calls have been trecherously slow in webpages.
Zoho show gives ability to edit slideshows online and share them. BTW, did I mention that it was free? Now I did.
