So I've been taking pictures of toilets for the past month.
Public bathrooms are gross and interesting
But not interesting enough
Unfortunately they are almost completely devoid of graffitti
And the graffitti there is I don't find appealing
I thought maybe I'd add my own graffitti
But that defeats the point
The one really interesting picture I took
Was an old man leaving the bathroom
He looked very confused as to why I took a picture with him.
I'll post that later
This got me thinking
People are more interesting than bathrooms
I like to draw them and try and capture who they are
If I drew a picture of that old man
It would mean a lot more
Than the picture I took
To me at least
You get to know people when you draw them
I've recently become very interested in Socialism
It makes a lot of sense to me
Particularly interesting is the fear of Socialism/Communism/Marxism
I want to draw Rosa Luxemburg
Because I like her writing
But I don't know what she looks like
I want to draw people whos words have made an impact
But maybe aren't as iconic as those
whos actions have made them famous
(everyone knows what Hitler looks like, but his writing sucked)
If you could see Rosa as an icon
I wonder how it would change her?
Idols, symbols, icons, figures
Here is a list of people whom you would probably recognize:
Martin Luther King
............................................there are surprisingly few.
I'm going to draw RosaLuxemburg
And turn her int an icon
Then see what happens.
