Snow Crystals Go Gold

Not all that glitters is gold,

as I showed you in my previous post,

but gold pieces are all over in this

winter sparkle trend.

This often gaudy combination of gold and diamonds isn't normally a favorite of mine, but some designers did it so well we had to take notice. This winter, gold and diamonds definitely aren't reserved for your wedding ring, just check out this BLING!

Kate Spade takes a step out of her basic handbag box with her edgy costume jewelry collection set, "Lady Marmalade." I love the collection's risk-taking center-piece statement necklace. Bravely countering the big, BIG, and BIGGER in the cocktail jewelry definition with a single, perfectly scaled...disco ball. But this piece isn't looking back to the 70s, it's unusually modern with its dangling bauble, balancing flashy gold and crystals with simplistic thin chain. You don't have to wait until New Year's for the ball to drop with this year round necklace you can have any time.
