Del.icio.us is fun for everyone

The del.icio.us website is a very useful and proficient way to put together a list of your favorite websites and blogs. Also, the toolbar tab that delicious utilizes makes it very easy to post the article to your network. Throughout the process I learned a few tips and tricks. My delicious site has about 100 posts and my favorite websites to use to post articles were ESPN.com, CNN.com, and nyorktimes.com.

My blog bundle has websites that related to my mblog for this class. All of these websites have to do with movies and entertainment because in my blog I reviewed current movies. Many of these movies were posts from the internet movie database website, but not all. The majority of the posts that were not from IMDb.com were from the movie’s home page. I did post the Roeper and Ebert movie review website because they are the two most well known movie critics.

The business bundle is probably one of two bundles that have the most relevance to BIT 200. Many of these posts came directly from the New York Times or CNN websites. These posts have to do with numerous topics such as money, wealth management, real estate, and economics. There are many other business posts but those were a few big ones. Generally, I would go on to the NY Times or CNN websites and click on the business link. Once on the business website I would look for interesting stories or stories that were relevant to my life in some way.

There are many entertainment posts that I bundled under the entertainment heading. A lot of these posts have to do with my blog site but there are others that were just interesting finds. I posted a few articles on House M.D. which is my favorite TV show of all-time. Another large aspect of the entertainment website is gaming. I am a big fan of videogames such as Xbox 360. I posted a few websites about 360 and its competition; PlayStation3 and Nintendo Wii. These sites sometimes even linked to business because they were about sales and market share.

My favorite bundle would have to be the sports bundle. This is my most extensive bundle because I am a huge sports fan. I tagged sites about each of my favorite sports teams including the Detroit Pistons, Red Wings, and Tigers. Also, I tagged a few sites about the Michigan Wolverines. Not all the articles just have to do with sports. Some of them overlap with business and have to do with the economics of sports.

The technology bundle has to be the most relevant to BIT 200 because it has all my IT tags. The IT tags are information technology websites that I found interesting. To quickly and easily find IT websites I would search the technology section of the CNN and New York Times websites. Each day they had a plethora of technology articles, which were generally very interesting. I have numerous articles about apple, because they are the most innovative and modern technology company.

In summation, the del.icio.us website is a very good way to keep all of your favorite websites and articles together in one place. Plus the tab feature of del.icio.us makes it even easier to post articles, because all you have to do click the tab and it takes you directly to the delicious website. Overall del.icio.us is very easy to use and the bundle technique keeps everything together and in a nice order.

I used the tool Googleblog search. This tool is very simple to use; all you have to do is type in a keyword and it brings up numerous blogs and websites about the topic. This tool can help me learn more about technology. Furthermore it can allow me to have up to date information on a range of topics. All I have to do is simply type in a keyword. Specifically, I typed in the keywords "technology" and "information technology" to see what would appear. A bunch of blogs dealing with these keywords appeared. I clicked one and it had to do with the apple co. and anti-piracy laws. You can refine your search by hours, days, or even months. This allows you to get as much news as possible. The site is very easy to use because it is similar to google, which I am very familiar with.
